Recap
*Of course, the skill level that the white team displayed in game one’s 5-1 defeat wouldn’t have been sufficient enough. “Frankly, it should have been a shutout for Steve”, said one opposing player. It was, apparently, so bad that team “captain” (we use that term loosely around here) Jared wanted to switch up teams. “Good thing no one listened to him, the games were fairly competitive the rest of the night”, said one white team player who was trying to undermine Jared’s authority.
*White team certainly did bounce back in game 2 though. They turned a 5-1 loss in game 1 into a 5-1 victory. “This game was a lot closer than the score indicated, but they did play much better in the second game”, said one casual observer. Game two was filled with fluky goals that took funny bounces or went off a player's foot. "When you make that many shots on net, (or the vacinity of), you are going to get the lucky goals", said one player.
* The return of Brett: After sitting out the first 2 games because of shin splints, Brett decided to help out the bench-less Dark team. "Injury or not he made a difference", said one scout. Brett helped turn the dark team around from game 2 leading them to a 5-3 win. Despite the dynamic speed of Jared and Petzold the white team came up short again. Said one scout: "Considering the bench situation for them, they should have walked all over the dark team by game three."
* So, does anyone know what happens to the stats when a tie occurs? Neither do I. The 4th and final game of the night ended at 8:00 sharp with a 2-2 tie. This game was so short nothing of note happened. But, when the game started we decided first to three wins. The white team was up with a quick 2-0 lead but couldn't finish it off before time was up.
Nick's Ramblings:
Any guesses were the watermelon reference came from? How is the welt, Jared? Is Brad banned for next week? 17 more days! Petzold, hold the stick with two hands and it may not go flying next time. Steelers or Cardinals? That's right, no one cares. Just to let you know: He doesn't care. Two weeks in a row, Lee? Impressive. Leader of the Pack: No one likes what you have to say(still) Stat Guru, I was unimpressed last week. Brad still doesn't look good. Is the word "shutout" one word or two? Joe, keep blocking De Maio's shots. Who looked more hurt: John R or Brett? Lenny, get better. Reggie, we missed your presense. I want Mark in goal!

Recap
*Game one was the closest thing to a "typical" game we would see tonight. "It was not a memorable game at all. In fact, it was poorly played by the white team." said a casual observer. Well, maybe (just maybe) the game wasn't poorly played by the white team, they were just over matched? "The hustle and bustle by Ward was insane! I'm not sure he could stop on a dime if had to, but he was quick." said one scout. Lenny's play up on offense was also integral in the black team's 5-1 win.
*It was nothing different. It not like we saw an elephant fly. 4-1 leads have been blown before, but this was bad. "When the black team got that 4th goal, they stopped hustling." said one scout. The comeback was started by a great shot by Nick(Did we get the stats down? Let me stop play. So i can "enhance" my stats. Did we get it down?). It was over quickly from there. Griff, Jared and Cliff finished it off rather dominately. "It was a great game to watch and be a part of...unless you were on the black team"
*But I be done seen about everything when I see it happen twice and a row. "Two games with 4-1 leads, and we lost them both! Pathetic!"-said one black (team) player. Game one and two were carbon copies of each other. The black team took a commanding lead, that seemed close to impossible to blow, and managed to blow it! "The defense didn't come back at all...to some it up in three words: WE STOPPPED HUSTLING.", said one player.
*The fourth and final game was not a game to remember for Lenny. How is the jaw by the way? But he toughed it out and played solidly to help lead his team to a 5-3 victory. But, this game will be remembered for the sloppiness on the field. Brad looked like he was sliding on gravel, and Brett looked like he had an accident.
NICK'S RAMBLINGS
Anyone need tape? Brendon I hope the arm is ok. Brett, 10 Million people a year suffer from ankle sprains, ankle injuries and shin splints. You are not alone. John, maybe you would be more successful in net if you yelled "screen" as loud as you can(like Dave does) instead of at yourself. How is the knee Reggie? Do the rollerblades hinder Billy's play or this his actual skill level? Just kidding. Do I make the big board this week? Stat guru, here is a challange for you: Give me a stat that makes it seem like Brad is a good player. Sorry Brad. Reggie, January 26th. Is it draft day yet? Mike Ward needs to hustle more. De Maio did you hit a post this week? I asked Griff if he wanted anything added to the Recap this week, his reply "Make sure you say you are terrible". Sorry Griff we stick to the truth around here.
I heard a fireside chat, I saw a baseball bat. And I just laughed till I thought I'd die. But I be done seen about everything. When I see an elephant fly

What movie is that quote from? Any guesses?
Nick's Ramble of the week
*This week I was scheduled to do the "Recap". As you can see it never came out. I'm not sure if had more to do with Johnny never getting me the information I needed or the recent results in the poll(s).
*Brett Said:
I think we all know the players that won't listen to the calls. The players that are unwilling to humbles themselves. Stubborn, unreasonable. The players that can't see the greater good. The ones that only see the bad in change and never the good.
Brett, I don't want to pick on you (here it comes!) BUT, are you kidding me? A ref? Guys come on! This is PICKUP HOCKEY! If we were to play softball in the summer do we have an umpire to call safe or out? Or call the strike zone? We are playing hockey, contact happens. People will get hurt. But, until we see players slamming others into the boards, for no reason, or hacking at others to intentionally hurt them (which isn't and shouldn't be happening) then you need to relax with your rants. Refs are NOT needed!
Cross Check-to obstruct in ice hockey or lacrosse by thrusting one's stick held in both hands across an opponent's face or body
Thrusting- to push or drive with force : shove
So, let me ask: Has anyone taken there stick, held with both hands, and drove (with great force) into to your face or body? Listen guys, I do not doubt contact by people, and the contact may have been more excessive then called for, granted. But, when 5 big guys are clustered in one area hacking for the ball, rough contact will happen. It's the way the game is. We are all brothers and we need to be aware of how aggressive we play, but to exaggerate the situation and call for refs is beyond ridiculous.
Feel free to debate.
and the mome raths outgrabe...
