This is Brett's friend Scott. I just want to clear the air with those of you who don't know me.
I can promise you that I DO NOT have a blogger account. I am NOT the one that posted mean things under the blogger account "Anonymous", even though certain ones falsely assumed so.
My posts were mostly jokes at the the Driscoll's expense.
So for those of you who think that Brett told me about all of your games and had me open an account to write bad things about you, think again.
I agree. I'm listed as having 75 percent winning percentage and yet we never lost....
If you're going to count the stats, you'd have to either NOT count it as a game, or make it a win/loss/tie, whatever the final score was. Or simply create a new stat for unfinished games. As it is right now everybody is getting a loss.
So far, as Nick described it is exactly how it is: if we have an unfinished game, it still have to count as a game if we want to count the stats from it. Otherwise, other stats like GPG, GAA, etc would all be inaccurate. And since nobody actually "won" the game, it shows up as a loss.
This is how we've handled it in the past. We have a couple of options if we want to change it: 1. Any unfinished games don't count stat-wise. 2. Everyone gets a win for unfinished games. 3. Without being too technical, I can create another field behind the scenes which will indicate if it's not a complete game. This would prevent the games counting when I calculate the wins / win %, yet still allow gpg, ppg, and gaa to still be accurate. The only problem with this is that a person's "Games Played" totals will be different based on the stat you are looking at.
Either way, let me know and I can change according to what everyone wants.
maybe we shouldn't try to force games in with 4 minutes left to play. just call it quits 4 minutes early.
or if we do only have 4 minutes left, and a team has scored 5 goals, keep playing the same game. making it possible for the score to be 7-4 or something.
if we don't want (i personally don't care) want opinions of people who we don't know or doesn't play with us (Scott - bretts friend) then we need to make this site available to only us.
This is a public site and by being such we are inviting comments by whom ever comes across this website.

so if the last game was never finished . . . how would it count on someones record? would it effect the wins or losses?
wins/losses are only counted if the game was completed. The goal(s)/assist(s) are counted toward the stats.
so i only played 2 games, but i'm listed as haing played 3. why is that. this is Brett
i demand accurate stats
the last game counted as a game played but no one got a win or loss.
i demand accurate insults
i demand more anonymous posts

What are you doing on our site anyway? Do you even play hockey? Why would we want your comments on our hockey site?

I'll pass the buck to Johnny.

Option 3 seems the most accurate. Couldn't you add that 'unfinished' stat to the 'games played' table as well?
I agree with dave
i agree with Dave.
Dave, to answer your question: yeah, I probably could...it's just more work for me!
