Recap

I thought I have seen everything. I saw a peanut stand. I have heard a rubber band. I've seen a needle wink its eye. I've seen a front porch swing, heard a diamond ring. And they tell me that a man made a vegetable truck. I didn't see that, I only heard. Just to be sociable, well, I'll take your word....

*Game one was the closest thing to a "typical" game we would see tonight. "It was not a memorable game at all. In fact, it was poorly played by the white team." said a casual observer. Well, maybe (just maybe) the game wasn't poorly played by the white team, they were just over matched? "The hustle and bustle by Ward was insane! I'm not sure he could stop on a dime if had to, but he was quick." said one scout. Lenny's play up on offense was also integral in the black team's 5-1 win.

*It was nothing different. It not like we saw an elephant fly. 4-1 leads have been blown before, but this was bad. "When the black team got that 4th goal, they stopped hustling." said one scout. The comeback was started by a great shot by Nick(Did we get the stats down? Let me stop play. So i can "enhance" my stats. Did we get it down?). It was over quickly from there. Griff, Jared and Cliff finished it off rather dominately. "It was a great game to watch and be a part of...unless you were on the black team"

*But I be done seen about everything when I see it happen twice and a row. "Two games with 4-1 leads, and we lost them both! Pathetic!"-said one black (team) player. Game one and two were carbon copies of each other. The black team took a commanding lead, that seemed close to impossible to blow, and managed to blow it! "The defense didn't come back at all...to some it up in three words: WE STOPPPED HUSTLING.", said one player.

*The fourth and final game was not a game to remember for Lenny. How is the jaw by the way? But he toughed it out and played solidly to help lead his team to a 5-3 victory. But, this game will be remembered for the sloppiness on the field. Brad looked like he was sliding on gravel, and Brett looked like he had an accident.

NICK'S RAMBLINGS

Anyone need tape? Brendon I hope the arm is ok. Brett, 10 Million people a year suffer from ankle sprains, ankle injuries and shin splints. You are not alone. John, maybe you would be more successful in net if you yelled "screen" as loud as you can(like Dave does) instead of at yourself. How is the knee Reggie? Do the rollerblades hinder Billy's play or this his actual skill level? Just kidding. Do I make the big board this week? Stat guru, here is a challange for you: Give me a stat that makes it seem like Brad is a good player. Sorry Brad. Reggie, January 26th. Is it draft day yet? Mike Ward needs to hustle more. De Maio did you hit a post this week? I asked Griff if he wanted anything added to the Recap this week, his reply "Make sure you say you are terrible". Sorry Griff we stick to the truth around here.

I heard a fireside chat, I saw a baseball bat. And I just laughed till I thought I'd die. But I be done seen about everything. When I see an elephant fly

Weekly Power Rankings said...

if there was ever a week to do it, this would be it. But I'll stick to the top five and not the bottom five.

5 Brett - If you were looking for evidence to prove a game changer, you found it last night. Brett was the missing puzzle piece for the white team. Apparently they were looking for a hobbling, winter glove wearing four eyed defensemen who could move the puck. He turned the white team from 5-1 blow out losers to resilient 5-4 comeback winners. Twice! Brownie points for playing hurt.

4 Billy - The better Driscoll . . . . for this week anyway. Billy owned the hardest shot the whole night and listened to the scouting report on the white teams goalie. SHOOT!! As much as the white team tried to stop every shot before it got to the net, they couldn’t stop all of them. Billy made sure the white team didn’t come back in the third game, netting the game winner.

3 Griff - He’s becoming a familiar face to Power Rankings. He managed to stay focused during every game even when every shot turned into a goal for the white team and every other player was caught up in the heartless play of their, what seemed to be, uninterested goalie. Some of the goals written down looked like Cliff and not Griff so he might get cheated out of some goals.

2 Lenny? - You best believe it!! Lenny controlled the first game (surprisingly) and schooled the white teams defense helping end game 1. Sometimes defensemen are forced to play offense when there aren’t enough subs. He took a shot to the jaw, but it didn’t seem to faze him. Maybe BB will give him some love too. But don’t get your hopes up Lenny.

1 Mike W. - Hustle . . Check. Goals . . Check. Checking . . Check. It was the hit on Jared, showing that he’s not gonna take crap from anyone, that vaulted him up to the top spot. No, I’m just joking. It was his 94 shooting percentage on Jim C that got him this spot. He created a scoring chance almost every trip into the offensive zone.

Honorable mention:

Riley’s superb goaltending in the first game was enough to catch my attention.

Worst player of the week

This part is to inspire the person to do better next week.

I think I let the cat out of the bag already but the honor this week goes to . . . . . Jim C for obvious reasons that everyone couldn’t ignore. The teams were stacked pretty well to off set his faults.

we need tony back!!!!

John get on that

Tony needs to get over his injuries. That's why I had to play net in the first place last Sunday!

BTW, I'll need another day for the stats - sorry, I've just been way too busy at work.

thank you for asking!!!

BB will be back wednesday night for some new changes and corrections on power rankings opinion.

BB why hasn't Brett made it to the top of the BB? I smell something fishy

I'm up for the challenge!!

Bradley has been improving every year

06-07 season saw him finish with 13 points in 30 games, .43 points a game

In 07-08 he reached career highs in both goals and assists(and obviously points). 9 Goals and 11 assists. Giving him .49 points a game

This year isn’t finished but as it stand he’s a little off pace to beat his points per game total, but might just set a new career high in goals. He has 8 I believe after last week.

those stats don't seem quite so impressive

Leader of the Pack…..

1)Billy - The better Driscoll.

2)Nick - Nick is just unbelievable.

3)John R - great goaltending throughout.

4)Brett - The second-best Driscoll.

5)Lenny - Played OK on defence.

leader of the pack

thinks being a Driscoll automatically gets you on WPR & thinks that some how Brett would have still been on it even if he didn't play.

thinks that if Brendon doesn't like Leader of the packs opinion he should put his own down, oh that's right he has - Refs - NEXT!!

thinks that Lenny & Nick are the 2 most under rated players

thinks that Mike W & Mike P would be a good race.

thinks that goal tending is not the biggest weekness on Sundays, it's the ability to play as a team
