Those scores don't actually sound right. I'm fairly confident I didn't give up 11 goals. According to John, it was discovered late in the second game that the dark team had actually already scored 5 goals, so we ended that game and went into the third game with the white team already having a goal or two applied to them. I'd suggest waiting for Johnny with the official score sheet.
As far as what Brendon said, hey--I know he goes down a lot. He has since I've ever known him. But still, it's a witness game, played amongst brothers, played amongst friends. Try to keep that in mind when he goes down injured and play continues with nobody even paying attention. We stop play for pretty much anybody else that goes down injured.
Brendon, we should not be keeping an account of the injury.
And no one cares about your stats!!! And thanks for the weekly injury updates, but please keep in mind everyone else is sore too. And you did push j riley first.
And only you get occasionally tripped out there because your beyond incredible and beat everyone so the only way we can keep up is to trip and slash you! (i'm laying the sarcasm on pretty thick).
5 Brett - He’s lost his touch on the assists but has picked up his goal production. “Look for him to disappoint next week” some scouts say, due to his early departure, which lead to his teams loss. Anyone who decides to slide . . . . Beware of his stick. He seems to have lost some speed also, he has been complaining of shin splints. Maybe a week off would do him some good.
4 Darrin D - Before his night ended prematurely, he headed the defensive core of the team in shutting down an injured J Riley and the speedy Meadows along with Warren and Mike D. Even though he was cheated out of a goal (it his the bottle on top, the bottle moved) he didn’t get discouraged and showed complete confidence in his transition game, being able to puck handle out of difficult situations and turn them into scoring opportunities for his team. Brett tells me he’s doing just fine
3 Jared - He managed to carry his team which included a injured J Riley. He lost out on the first round pick also. All things considered, he did just fine for this week. Oh yeah, he had an underachieving Mike W. He just has a bad track record of picking teams.
2 Griff - Considered to be nothing more than a stay at home defensemen, he has blossomed into a top offensive threat, with a decent shot that was never seen down in FL and soft hands that can make any pass. And unlike Brett and Jared, he never seems to complain about the team he has supporting him.
1 Dave R - Just think of all the times he robbed you (white team) and you know why he’s #1 this week. No one will ever confuse him with Martin Brodeur and his stick handling ability, but who cares if white team takes it at the top every time, they never scored. It’ll be sad to see you go Dave, you left a lasting impression.
as captain of my team, i must say the only thing i witnessed (and i will name names) was JR push Brendan from behind. I don't know what happened before that, but it doesn't matter.
Jared you said you hate when Referees let a call go cause they're making up for a past missed call. Isn't it the same thing as Brendan pushing JR and then JR retaliating and in essence saying it's even now?
And no one gets to complain about injuries until Darrin complains first
Games played - 117 Points - 33 Points Per Game - 0.28
How is that possible? Only 9 goals in 117 games (.076 goals a game). Not even enough to place in the top 20 all time list. And it’s not like he doesn’t take chances. His goal differential is so low it doesn’t even rank! I don’t mean to be so harsh. Don’t hate the Stat Guru, just hate the stats. I'm not saying to stop coming, but it's time to step up your game and become more versatile.
1. Way too swamped with work today, plus have the CO visit tonight, so no stats updated until tomorrow it looks like.
2. Until Triple P shows up for a game, he is no longer relevant.
3. Mike, we'll have to create a league and send you an invite. Maybe Brett can pick up '09 and we'll be able to have 5 teams in it.
4. Brendon, I did not see you get cross-checked. If you are referring to me, I pushed you with one hand while going for the puck. I did this AFTER you crashed into me while knowing I was trying not to play full out last week due to my back. I did not use my stick. I also had taken a full slash to the ankle from you two weeks before while standing in front of the net. Seeing how the bruise is still there, I probably have more of a gripe.
5. The problem with doing penalties is one of the things that makes playing basketball lousy - people complaining all of the time about fouls. Without a ref, there will be WAY too much bickering back and forth (think of all of the controversey just over offsides calls).
6. I thought for the most part the game was very clean last week with the exception of Brett taking out his own teammate (accidentally) and Griff and Chris going hard into the boards.
7. One final note: the comment that we "resorted to Griffing since we couldn't win" - we didn't win for two reasons: First, Dave played awesome. Secondly, I was injured and did very little to help me team. Trust me, take away either of those factors and the results would have probably been different. We had NO need to resort to "Griffing you" as you claim.
I didn't see what happen, so I can't and won't give my opinion on it.
Everyone at some point or another ends up hacking someone.
I know I have a tendancy to lower my shoulder or put my hand up if someone is going around me. I usuallly catch myself on it and say something like "hey sorry about that" and it's done.
In the heat of the game stuff is going to happen. Would penalties solve it? Not totally, but would help. I can almost guarantee if you start trying to call penalties you will have more arguments and fights than you can even think of because we don't have a ref and would be calling our own. I mean look at the 5 minute discussions that happen after a close offsides call. Can you imagine what will happen if you try to tell someone to sit down and short hand a team? You don't think that if someone is all ticked off for sitting for 2 minutes that they'll be more likely to retaliate when they are back in the play?
I think if we had a ref then great, but we don't.
I will say this. Lumping all physical play as Griffing it, isn't fair to Griff.
That's like saying Darrin was Brendoning it when he got hurt.
Or saying that when ever someone hit the post they were Mike De-ing it..(actually I would find that kind of funny), but you get my point.
i think we all know the players that won't listen to the calls. The players that are unwilling to humbles themselves. Stubborn, unreasonable. The players that can't see the greater good. The ones that only see the bad in change and never the good.
Go ahead Jared and leave your post, so as to prove my point. If you had as little respect as Brendon does, then you might think otherwise.
If you don't want to sit, then watch your stick. You aren't the penalty problem. And having a ref isn't to just pick on a certain few players. It's for everyone.
Brendon well done on the hooked-on-phonics/can't read comebacks. Touche.
But i want names if your saying your getting checked and slashed and tripped all last week. You said it wasn't riley, i'm pretty sure i don't play defence and neither does cliff.
So who Nick? Mike? Lenny? Joe? those are your choices. Throw a name out there. Whoever your talking about i'm sure would like to know that they're causing all these penalties.
And i'll try to find you mike when i can get on, but i'm pretty sure it's BYFIELDJARED, you have xbox360 right?

thanks for the scores. No nothing is missing. John is away and has all the stats.

i only stop the game if i smash someone in the eye with my stick
i agree with dave on the scores.
first game was 5-2 dark.
second game is the game in question.
and the last game i'm pretty sure we had 3 goals
we'd a bunch of guys playing pick up street hockey...
oh wait, that is what we are....
i had 14 goals 17 assists
brett had 0 goals, 0 assists, and lost 7 games
Brendon, we should not be keeping an account of the injury.

the problem is what's stopping people from retaliating?
Penalties will do that!!
2 minute penalties. We just need a stop watch.
Power Play goals and Short Handed goals are a more real, desirous stat than "clutch goals" or "point percentage of team goals"

Oh by the way the person just described is Nick.
Hey guys, finally back home.
A few things:
1. Way too swamped with work today, plus have the CO visit tonight, so no stats updated until tomorrow it looks like.
2. Until Triple P shows up for a game, he is no longer relevant.

Can't we just all play?
i'll ref this week. i could use a week off from running hard.
I don't think being a ref would be too hard. No one really hooks or slashes too often.
I'll just call blatent checks, trips and hits from behind, with the occasional slash or hook.
would everyone be willing to submit to a refs call?
Griff plays rough, but i'd say only a few times would he have been called for a penalty.
What does everyone think?
i have nhl 09 but my online ran out.
You could wear this
http://www.buycostumes.com/Referee-Shirt-Shaped-Plastic-Tray/24685/ProductDetail.aspx?REF=SCE-froogle
billy has a ref shirt i can borrow.
is every one up for it?
poll time?
i just need a whistle
if you really want to do it that is fine with me.
i think we all know the players that won't listen to the calls. The players that are unwilling to humbles themselves. Stubborn, unreasonable. The players that can't see the greater good. The ones that only see the bad in change and never the good.

if someone hits their own teamate in the eye, is that a penalty?
last week i pimp you up stat Guru and this is how you repay me?
i am un-biased
re NHL09 - sounds cool John.
Jared I tried to look you up and it said unfound.
