Hockey this Sunday
I need to get a headcount as to who is going to play this Sunday since the Bruins will be playing Sunday night. I can just tape the game, but I want to make sure there will be enough people to play. So if you are going to make it this week then post a message with your name on it as quick as possible so I know to reserve the rink.
Thanks

Recap
No one likes someone that interferes. They are ultimate instigator, inconvenience and nuisance. They are the rabble-rousers of society, creating hostility that no one wants a part of. Interfering can happen with words and actions. And it comes in all sorts of forms. We have the players that "bump" into you during a game, despite you not even being in the play. We also have the players that beat you down with words. But the worst type is the ones that decide not to show up-either emotionally or physically. If you say you’re coming, show up! If you show up and don’t play your heart-out, leave! Don’t interfere with everyone else’s “good time”. But I digress.
For those of you that will try and debunk me in the comments: I’ll get the world’s smallest violin started for you guys….
Let’s checkout this week’s games…
*If you looked at the boxscore of game one, it would have looked like a game where Brett and Johnny got to dominate us in their amusement. Remember, we are all just pawns in their little “game.” But, Brett decided not to show. So it was just the Johnny show…or was it? Hold on a second! Wait a minute! Not to toot my own horn, but I had three points! Three! The game started out with a quick goal by Johnny (guess who the assist came from) 1-0 dark team. Then a goal from Nick (it was an excellent shot from the point by the way) 2-0 Dark team. Johnny and Nick actually alternated goals in the first game. 5-0 Final. “Smart Hockey, nothing fancy”, said one astute player.
*So, Brendon how about we define the word interference for you, huh?
*Game three was the competitive game played. 5-4 final It went back and forth all night. “Everyone was tired, the game never ended”, said one player. The highlight of that game was Brad. Of course it was about something he didn’t do. The score was 4-3, Nick brought the ball down, and was left with no one to pass to (yes its surprising that no one came down with me…). Nick ended up having to make a pass to the point. The pass was a perfect one to Johnny who created a play. As he started to storm down to the net the defense collapsed toward him leaving Brad wide open. Johnny made the perfect pass. Brad took three attempted “shots” at the empty net and failed miserably each time. Borderline pathetic. “HE HAD LIKE 10 MINUTES”, said one player. Soon after the white team tied it at 4 and Johnny was freaking out. Luckily for Brad, Johnny managed to finish the game. 5-4 Final
Nick’s Ramblings
Brendon, I don’t mean to pick on you but…I got to do what is necessary. Dale, do you have a clue what it means to be “offsides”? It’s not just you, in fact most of you don’t. It isn’t a hard concept to grasp. Call it if it clearly off, if it’s not clear, keep it to yourself. Advice directed toward unnamed individual(s): don’t ask for someone to praise you. It makes you look worse. Should I expect a “full” group next week? Only 2 or 3 more weeks of hockey left for the year. Lee, you played an excellent game…which leads me to the WPR's that matter….

Interfere- to act reciprocally so as to augment, diminish, or otherwise affect one anotherNow Brendon, I understand you can spin this definition anyway you want so I’m going to leave no leg for you to stand on. I understand that your job is to “effect” or “diminish” your opponents effectiveness. I understand. But what you need to realize is that there is a line. Quit crossing it! That’s all that should be said. If you cant understand that then there is nothing I can do for you. In game two, aided by Brendon, who was “not interfering”, the tides turned. The white team managed to reverse a 5-0 loss in game one into a 5-1 win in game two. “Despite two rookies on defense all night we did a solid job”, said one white team player. The white team got their goals from 4 different players; one goal each for Joe, Dale, Danny and two from the amazing Brendon Martino, respectively. “Unlike game one, we played as a team…It was fun” said one player. John Riley had the only goal for the dark team. Johnny may still be yelling at Bradley for his game two “performance.”

An update...finally
The stats are up guys.
The under appreciated, criticized and biased recap was cancelled for this week.
Not the best quality of video but I think it applies to the comments on the board:

Recap
A complaint is something no one wants to hear. It's the archetype of every annoying word uttered by your mouth. Complaints are vital in society and life, but there is a time and a place for them. During the game is not the time. If you have a problem with the way a play was called or how a teammate has been playing talk about after the game or on the bench...don't waste precious game time. After all, no one is paying to listen to you. Just play the game.
Some food for thought:
Before we recap the games lets break down the "captains" game log:
Brett:
• w/ John - 35 Games • w/ Jared - 13 Games • w/ Jon - 4 Games
Total Games: 59. With top player: 52 Games.
4 of those 7 remaining games vs Jared only (John played net)
Only 3 solo games vs Jared and John (the week John couldn't do anything with the bad back. He also had Dave in net.)
Percentage w/ top player: 88 %
Percentage of games against teams with more top players: 5 % (3 out of 59)
Jared:
• w/ John - 7 • w/ Brett - 13 • w/ Jon - 12 • w/ Scott - 9 • w/ Derek - 5
Total Games: 71. With top player: 46 Games
4 of those 25 remaining games vs Brett only. 1 additional one vs team w/ no top player.
Percentage w/ top player: 65%
Percentage of games against teams with more top players: 23 % (17 out of 71)
John:
• w/ Brett - 35 Games • w/ Jared - 7 Games • w/ Jon - 1 Game • w/ Derek - 3 Games
Total Games: 64. With top player: 46 Games
3 out of remaining 18 games vs Jared only.
Percentage w/ top player: 71%
Percentage of games against teams with more top players: 23% (15 out of 64)
So check out the stats. John and Jared have both have had the same relative opponent levels…it seems as though Brett has taken advantage of his situation. And it shows too. Brett has the second highest win total this season with 43. Who is first you ask? Brendon. Brendon Martino.
So Brett, are you ready for a larger challenge?
*Game 1 was the best game, despite the score not being all that close. It started out as 4-1 lead for the Dark team. The goals came from Brendon, two from Jared and another knuckleball goal from Lee. It seemed as though the dark team was well on their way to an easy victory, but were we on the verge of another game one comeback. “We almost had another” said one scout. It was another fascinating turn of events. The white team managed two quick goals from Dale and Tony (yes Tony was back and he was playing out). The score was now 4-3. So, did another team lead by Johnny manage a game one comeback? “It didn’t happen. The Dark team played solid defense, but I was mostly impressed with their passing game…they played as a team and got the win because of it’ said one astute player. The game was finished off by a clutch goal Mike D. 5-3 Final Score.
*Game two was another frustrating game for the players for the white team. “It was a blowout. I think the game was closer than the score indicated, but it was still a bad showing for the white team” said one scout. It was bad. At the start of game 2 the white actually had Nick in center. Think about that. Nick. Not to be biased but he the team’s only goal. One player said of Nick, “I honestly thought Nick was our third best winger…” I’m not sure if that says more about me or my teammates. Too bad it was the only highlight for the white team as after Nick’s quick goal the dark team took over: Goals from Brett, Brendon, Jared and two from Mike D. “Mike was fantastic, the best I have seen from him…much improved.” It seems as though Mike has lost his trade mark of hitting the post, instead the balls are going in the net. All night the white team were the ones hitting the posts…including John, MVW, and Nick twice.
*Game three was my tipping point. The games were becoming pathetic. Game three included goals from Tony (after the trade for Brendon), two from Jared, one from Lenny (who played a solid game by the way) and another from Mike De Maio. Instead of describing how the dark team steamed rolled the white team again. I’m going to go on rant. First, let me rip Brad. So, Brad how does it feel that Nick (the defenseman) and Tony (thetiger goalie) out scored you this week? Maybe, once people stop talking to you at the sound department, you will have better focus during hockey (inside joke…don’t worry if you don’t understand) Ok, enough about Brad. Jared, can I ask you a question? I just did…hahahaha-that’s for you Jack-Do you know what it means to be off sides? I’m not sure you do. And finally, white team what was up with the full line changes? I have to say…I never liked them but you used them well.
*Game 4 had a final score of 1-0…white team with the lead. So Johnny, Why don’t we count that as a win?
