Yes, the recap has become the quintessence of Saugus Hockey. It has become more loved than the stats themselves...well, not really.
How Did the Stats begin?
The idea of the stats came up when we were preparing the hall for the Quick Build. Reggie was the first one to suggest this crazy idea. The first implementation was keeping track of the stats and then putting them into a spreadsheet. From there we would have to download from a website. The stats then fell apart as it wasn’t very accurate and people started losing interest. So, we ended up scrapping the original inaccurate stats and started from scratch using the database and website that John built. It was a boring site. No interaction. Just a couple spreadsheets. After that 1st season (2006-2007 season) Nick built the website we have now, and we’ve kept the database that John had created as the source of the stats.

_____________________________________________________________
The 2008-2009 season was the best year of hockey we have ever had. It was also the season with the most games we have ever played. Because of this statistical milestones were reached:
- John Riley 117 Goals
- It was, though, a tight race for second. Brett managed to eclipse Jared by 6 goals
- It was a breakout year for Mike D. 38 goals
- Lenny started to play every week...do you think he cherry-picks?
This will go down as the recap that just ended...it was never completed. Pulled from the archives.
