Weekly Power Rankings

11-28-10

Johnny’s Kind of Night

5 Johnny - Don’t be fooled by the title of this week’s WPR. Johnny had some goals in game 1, but that’s where his commendation ends. His passes were terrible all night, and when he did by chance make a good pass to someone they’d miss it cause they were expecting a crappy pass. He played defense which should never happen, not that he’s bad at D, just why would you take away your biggest threat on offense?

4 Griff - Nothing special really, just solid. His team wasted a lot of his energy by turning it over right at the line. Still Griff played hard and killed Frendon in the process.

3 Frendon - One of, if not the only, player who seemed to hustle all night, and on a night where there were no subs that’s hard to do. Some of his decisions were questionable and he still doesn’t quite get how the whole assist thing works, his hustle was key in the game 1 win and even in keeping game 2 close.

2 Nick - Is this the night we look back on and say: “That’s the night Nick learned how to hit the net”? I hope so. Low and on net all night really stretched the white teams D showing that they had to cover the point, opening up more room for the offense down low.

1 JB - I lost count of how many scoring chances he set up. He was able to turn on the jets when needed and ended up picking off many cross ice passes for breakaway chances and finished on almost all of them.

Honorable Mention:

Mike D - Had a sub-par game 1 but a change of scenery was just what he needed

lol...snipin corners only gets you an honorable mention.

Its really quiet around here again.

I guess having 3 points my first game (1 goal 2 assists) which means I contributed to half the teams overall points and blocking about 20 shots in first game which included at least 3 that bailed out the goalie - sub par.. haha

just goes to show that points dont mean everything. JR had half the teams goals and only got 5th. Mike i agree with WPR. you played better in game 2, you got to loose balls you were around the net causing problems all game.

Too bad the lights went out before we finished so it doesn't count

Too busy with work to comment much...probably will be like that for most of December.

And due to my getting hard drive and new operating system for my machine the stats will have to wait till the end of the week at the earliest this week. Sorry guys.

sub-par may have been a little harsh

It looks like this Cohen guy can actually pass the puck...

i sense a bit of sarcasm...

Mike D said...

that was actually genuine..

sarcasm would have been:
Wow, it prolly a good thing you made that cast of of tape other wise they may have had to amputate...

Nick said...

haha...thats perfect.

Nick said...

I fixed that formatting for you wpr.

Brett said...

how do you know WPR didn't want it in that format?

Nick said...

it was rough on my eyes...too bad for him

A little surprised to see Hunwick go since that leaves them without anyone with even decent puck moving skills. Your two best now are Ferrence and Seidenberg.

Still wondering if there's another shoe to drop...

Brett said...

They had to clear cap room for savard. hunwick was terrible anyways. His puck moving skills weren't good. It was his skating that the Bruins liked.

what happened to brendon?

Nick said...

why did I press that link?

Brendon, can we upgrade you today?

Mark said...

Sounds painful. Glad you're ok
