Hockey this Sunday - 5:45 Inside Rink
Well the Patriots sure take care of any question about what time we'd play this week. Now that the meetings have switched we'll have to start after 5:30, so 5:45 seemed the most logical time. Anyway, it's nice to get back to a normal schedule. Let me know if you will be there.

Well it's big board posting from a new iPad which is very difficult to type on sooooooo.....on we go!
1. Borges- undesputed #1 player in Saugus or dracut or wherever we've been playing this year. Remember when brendon said he was a Better player? Why did my iPad capitalize better? Wait, it didnt capitalize it there, and it didn't put an apostrophe on didn't even tho it put it on the other didnt.
2 Brett- Brett should probably stop passing to everyone on his team, rumor has it he's getting more hand surgery because it's more fun than passing to anyone affiliated with A team.
3 Johnny- wow Johnny has the most points in saugus again this year, now everyone in your best Joe costiglione voice "can you believe it?" yes Johnny is still the best scorer in htsnga. I guess some things will never change, thats just the way it is, oh ya......
4 nick- the problems with nick are fixable but bb is questioning how much effort nick is putting into passing and hitting the net. If the name of the game was fire slapshots and injure teammates than nick is your guy. Did I mention I have an iPad?
5 griff- close call here but griffs solid two way play gives him the nod, the shot still takes too long to get off but his ability to get people to stop playing hockey is second to none
6 miked- great play at center this year. Does he go back down for the "L" on the "n-h-l" opening face-off? Who knows...but we know he's gonna hustle and yell at brendon every week and that's all we can ask for.
7 Jared- Jared along with Johnny is scheming up new ways to score without actually running or hustling, because it is after all, all about the stats!
8 darrin- he's been the best goalie but has been falling back toward the pack of endless mediocre goalies Saugus pumps out. Don't worry Jimmy, you'll be in that pack soon.
9. Mark- I just dawned on bb that Reggie may never make the top ten again this year. Mark plays good defense and has a decent shot that would score on steves 5 hole 90% of the time.
10 brendon- brendon is the Craig biggio of hockey town. Tons of goals and games played which is nice, and I don't really know where else to take that analogy but I do have an iPad and nick made me write a big board this week which has taken up a lot more time than I planned.
Well,till text week kids this is big board signing out reminding you to not make dangerous passes to your wide open defense partner when there's two forecheckers on you.

I beg to differ that Griff is 2nd to none in getting people to stop coming to Saugus.
Jared typing on the ipad is definitely not easy. I much prefer an actual keyboard. It's cool to have in addition to a laptop though.

Can we get some stats from last week!!!??!! Nicks posting recaps and bb and wpr are in full swing, it's all you now Johnny just post the stats
how long do stats take to do? and why don't you have access to them from home?
As I said about the stats, I generate them from my work pc, which is where I have my database software. This week they are upgrading my pc, so until I get it back I can't generate the stats. I was hoping I had it by yesterday, but it looks like it won't be until next week.

Wild Card
5 Mark - Pretty sure he beats Chara’s reach by 3 inches. Mark isn’t the fastest player in Saugus, but he doesn’t need to be. Cause just when you think you’ve beaten him, hear comes that sweep check. Mark has to be seriously considered for one of the top 5 players in Saugus.
4 Nick - Becoming more of a wild card himself than a consistent shutdown defender. But tonight he was just plain great and I even saw a wrist shot that left the ice. When you have Johnny, Brett and Brendon scoring on a regular basis, you don’t really need him to hit the net, but he did…..well he hit Jared and it bounced in.
3 Johnny - Some pretty goals from Johnny for the first time in a long time. He still likes to try his wrap around goal every week at least once even though it never works on Darrin. Johnny does have something no one else has though, the ability to catch a hard pass, on the run, and shoot, on the run. His very quick release is very useful.
2 Brett - Some absolutely beautiful passes tonight, passes that even Brendon couldn’t miss. Had 7 assists on the night. Brett also gets some “Tommy points” for purposely untying his shoe in the middle of the play so that he could kill 3.5 seconds off the clock while everyone was lining up for the face-off and force Borges to pout and overreact due to the fact that his team was playing terrible. Just a real heads up play by Brett.
1 Brendan - You can’t fully appreciate Brendon’s fore-checking, until he does it on a night of a 5 on 5 with no subs. His passes were the best they’ve been….ever. And his shots were good. I lost count of how many times he forced the white D to pass it right to Johnny or Brett, or maybe the D was just that bad(BTW Johnny, Joe is no where near the level of skill Griff is. Never has been and tonight just emphasized it). Either way Brendon did what no one else wanted to do and he was rewarded for it with some goals. Does this count as 2 straight weeks at #1?

Darrin - Poor Darrin.
Steve - Made about 14 total saves in the first 2 games combined. But I’d say 11 of them were unbelievable saves.
Glad you guys are still at it. I am working on my Basketball skills on Saturday nights. This old man has stamina (and pain tolerance) for only one night. I will get back there soon!!

just to note; My only goal was a wrist shot from the point and it hit no one.
There is no way I hit Jared with a ball. I may be wild but Im not hittig the winger for the other team on the other side of the point.

Chris, basketball should be played in the summer...outdoors! I wouldn't mind playing on a Saturday with you though.
Lenny, nice to hear that you are recovering. I had no idea that you and Joe had been injured as badly as you were.

Steve wasn't tested enough, and even if he let the tough saves in, we still win. He's not why we won in my opinion. And Game 3 he gave up 4 goals on 6 shots. Not trying to kill Steve here, but i'm just trying to guess as to why WPR didn't have him in the top 5.
Nick your shot hit someone in front, it definitely got deflected.
Stop gassing me up lol. I had two good weeks in a row with the dark team and now I'm top 5? We really must be low on bodies
Although I may have reinvented myself as a D. Maybe thats my true calling. Either way I've had fun the last two weeks

BTW, I'm installing my applications onto my machine today, so I should be able to get to the last couple of weeks of stats by tomorrow.
I am struggling with a strange case of gout in my knee for the last month. The thing was the size of a watermelon. But I'm in therapy now and it's progressing nicely. Should be back in a few weeks.
