Two questions.

How did Nick ever win the award for most improved shot?

And, why was that even an award?

Nick said...

1)Chicks dig power. How close it is to the net is not important.

2) Because Nick wanted to win something.

BTW...At points in that video I sounded like Alvin the Chipmunk and at other points I sounded like a drunk sailor.

Nick said...

btw, I still think we lost because some of us panicked after that play Johnny blew (yeah i went there and I sort of helped)

My best example: look at John's first pass after "the play".

Brett said...

ha. Nick i think we lost cause they scored 1 more goal than we did.

I did all those effects to your motivational one-liner cause it deserved that kind of attention. It is quite possibly the single most greatest line ever caught on tape.

Brett said...

agreed on the pass after. take a closer look. for that pass to be a successful one. it would have had to go through all 3 of their players before it got to me

Brett said...

There's no question as to who's fault i thought that goal was.

Nick said...

yeah, you yelled his name right after.

but your tune had cahnged a little.

Jared said...

What chemistry between jack and Ron!

Brett said...

They scored goals in bunches

So in 3 months, we will have two teams traveling to Montreal, with no goalie on either team nor a full roster.

The problem is that there are too many people who want to play to condense down to 1 team.

Does Frendon have a shot at B team roster seeing as JB allowed him to be on his team last week? Gotta say, what a hypocrite JB is. When Frendon has bad previous weeks, he says there's no way they can be on the same team. But when Frendon has a few good weeks in a row he allows it.

Nick said...

wait, why would both teams not have a goalie?

Brett said...

Who's B-teams goalie?

Darrin doesnt need another walkway so what's there to bribe him with?

Jared said...

Why r u guys so worried about b team? We probably don't have a goalie but who cares. We'll go with no goalie! We r all mediocre hockey players who will never win anyways.

Although if we do win a game or two early we should probably intentionally lose and save ourselves for playoffs.

Brett said...

all of us Jared? Come on, some of us are way below mediocre.

We all complain about teams we're dealt, about how unfair they were and such. But i've never seen such a disgraceful act as this past Sunday from Frendon. FAKING the extent of his injury so that he can be traded to the other team. FAKING!!! And there will be video evidence.

At the end of game one you said you couldn't run, which was true as far as we could see. But magically 5 minutes into game 2, Frendon is cured(by being on Borges' team) and is running hard, jumping off side boards to retrieve balls and sliding to make plays.

I thought i was a poor sport, and i am. But Frendon just set a whole new low

Nick said...

oh i want to see this.

gimp!

Brett said...

i'm just glad he ended up being the only player on the night with no wins

John said...

Too bad I missed it. I made the right choice tho. Both myself an the baby still have fevers over 101.

Brett said...

That goal was very close. i'm still not convinced it was in. but it should be listed as Frendon from Borges

Mike D said...

I know White won game 1 and Dark won game 2, but who ended up wining game 3?
Did it just end as a tie?

Jared said...

Game 3 was a tie 1-1.

Brendon is apparently setting world records for fastest recovery from a pulled hamstring, a mere 5 minutes!!!

Jared said...

Who told you taping a muscle with hockey tape is a good idea? There's definitely plenty of confusion to go around.

And if nick was unable to make a play with the ball then he never had possession, tho I have no idea who scored it or why darrin was 50 feet out of the crease.

Brett said...

i asked my doctor what's the best thing i can do to rehab my hand and he said tape it

Brett said...

have you ever been to a doctor where he told you to go home, rest up, put ice and tape it?

5 Steve - All big saves tonight. Steve did the job he was asked to do in game 1 and did it with relative ease. But even when it got harder as the night progressed, Steve made the saves he should have and definitely gave his team every chance to come away with the win.

4 Matt P - When you’re the fastest player there, it can make you look 100 times better than you really are. I overheard someone compare Matt to Mike W but with more control. Matt created a lot of chances for himself resulting in a few breakaways.

3 JB - Yet again displayed his lack of ability to judge talent and ended up stealing Dale from Jared(Jared had picked Dale before he arrived) and in turn ended up with a solid team, no weak links, and saying the teams were fair. JB loves playing hockey when there’s little chance of him losing. He does it twice every Sunday. He says he’s a leader, but even with stacked teams, he only leads them to losses most of the time. But he does get his goals, and he got them tonight.

2 Jared - It’s not Brett and Johnny who force Jared into bad teams. It’s himself. One might even think he secretly loves playing on the underdog teams. Jared could have been #1 this week if he didn't fail to score on a number of glorious chances. But when you look at his team, your jaw drops and you ponder how his team won a game(especially with Nick not being very good)

1 Darrin - If you’re still pondering how Jared’s team won a game, Darrin’s your answer. Darrin’s highlight reel saves were a plenty tonight. Stopping many breakaways and shots from the slot, many times causing Griff to grunt in frustration. One in particular when he stacked the pads to stone Griff in the slot. He got better as the night went along, too bad game 3 was cut short.

I can't wait for video, and nick better be working on a timely recap and whose putting stats up? I want everything!

Nick said...

i had to dive

Mark said...

Nice video. Too funny...

Is that how you guys like the videos, with more plays in them? I can do mine the same way.

Brett said...

Mark, the highlights from our games certaily don't deserve to be that long. I just have nothing else to do.

Mike D said...

I have a copy of Adobe Premier if anyone wants to try it out for video editing

You needa pretty good machine to use it though

Mike D said...

I can throw the ISO image of it up
when I get gome

Jared said...

Why does nick no longer do recaps?

Brett said...

Cause he thinks he's better than that. News flash Nick, you're not.

Brett said...

i'd love to take a look at that Mike

Mike D said...

Brett I'll see if I can get the ISO image of it up.

Are you familiar with ISO images?
if not just google - free iso burner

You can download the ISO I put up and when you use the ISO burner it will create the installation disk as if you just took it out of the box

Brett said...

Where's BB?

Nick said...

yeah i think im better.

Honestly brett, even if I had all the time that you have, I would have a tough time writing the recap...just not enough material. Its the same thing every week. Brendon "acts" stupid. You try to be the "hero". Griff hacks. Jared cries...and then cries again(seinfeld ref). Brad and Mike show off their "droolie" mouth guards and Borges smells like sweaty garlic bread. I can only write it so many times.

Thats why i wrote the tourny recap. It was different (yet the same..lol). I actually enjoyed it. I could actually think, instead of going through the motions. I was rewording the same jokes. Brendon has no hockey sense, we get it already! I just lost the enjoyment. Plain and simple.

Brett said...

yeah Nick, i'm sure WPR never runs out of new things to say. I'm pretty sure he just copies and pastes old editions now.

Nick said...

brendon

I ripped your abilities and you needed to throw me under the bus.

Good for You. :)

BTW, Kelly?? The B's better have more coming.

Nick said...

for those that didnt hear about the "new" weei:

Lou Merloni and Mike Mutnanski to mid day

Michael Holley to join The Big Show

Dale Arnold to go to fill-in duty.

Gresh and Zo still have a show...and dale and holeey are done...sick.

Brett said...

Weei will be out of a station in 2 years or less

Jared said...

Totally agree weei lost their only good show. I hope Dale goes to 98.5 now, he's good at talking hockey

JB said...

i agree!

Mark said...

Sad listening to Dale this morning

I've been listening to him since the mid 90's when he was solo (before Eddie) and telling 70's hockey stories

"okily-dokily!"

Mike D said...

Brendon with your super healing ability I'm sure the muscle you just pulled was healed before you finished the post

You healed severe nerve damage in your elbo in less than a week & amazingly recovered from a pulled calf muscle between games.

Mike D said...

you clearly don't know how to take a joke...

Nick said...

i forget you lost the power.

that put a smile on my face.

can I have your doctor's number?

John said...

Hey guys, I have been extremely sick since Sunday so I haven't been able to post much. Anyway, desperate move by weei, I agree.

Anyway I will be starting a new thread for this week. Inside at 6. I better be healthy by then!

Jared said...

I definitely vote for a brendon recap! And get those stats up brendon this was your week to impress with Johnny out!

Brett said...

i think the real question is who goes to the doctor for a hurt elbow? I put Frendon's pain tolerance on the same level as Ellsbury

Brett said...

you still wearing those elbow pads?

Brett said...

Did the doctor tell you to put tape on the elbow? or did you already have a whole roll of it on there when you walked in?
