Hockey this Sunday. Do you guys want 6:00 inside or 7:00 outside?

Let me know who is in and what your preference is.

Also, I've updated all of the stats except the Player Cards.

7:00 is much better for me.

the math doesn't add up on my season points, 10 too many but ill take em!

and that last goal me from brett definately should count! its on the score sheet. theres a photo of it and everything

in for sunday 6:18 is much better for me

Hey that last goal counts. I yelled out "We're playing!!!" a thousand times. Waited for everyone to look at me, made sure everyone knew i was going to resume play and then carried the ball. You might have been down a man in Griff, but everyone else was playing. Borges and Mike W came after me and i passed it to Jared and he shot it in. It counts. Like Jared said, it's on the score sheet

I'm in. I prefer 7 outside, seeing as I have the late 3:30 meeting. I also wouldn't mind a change of scenery : )

I figured it out Johnny.

You missed the goal of Jared from me. It was not the last goal of the night but rather the game winner of game 2.

The goal list should read

Brad from Jared
Frendon from Jared
Dale from Unassisted
Dale from Brett
Dale from Brett
Dale from Brad
Frendon from Jared
Frendon from Brad
*Jared from Brett*(this is the goal your missing)
Frendon from Brett
Jared from Brett

That goal was circled in the margin as the game winner

7 outside unless it's raining

Dale who ever your friend is that wouldn't play cause of Griff(if Griff is infact out for the year) bring him. I want to end the year with a bunch of people playing.

Remember everyone, let's make an extra effort to be there early.......

Ron, if you still read the blog, how bout showing up for the last week or two of the Saugus season?

JB said...

Wow desperation is setting in with only two weeks left!

Brett said...

Warren is in. That's how desperate we are.

Brett said...

How bout Chris and Lenny?

I'll try to address everyone's stats questions tomorrow. I'll also see what I can do about pulling some of the other stats that Brett was looking for.

Mark said...

What? There's really only two weeks left in the season?

Nick said...

id say 7 gives john a better chance to be on time.

in theory.

Nick said...

yep. In 3 weeks we have our convention and then its june.

Brett said...

No Nick. He'll probably have a ton of errands to run right before hockey.

fwiw (not much I know) I wasn't playing during that last goal...when "it" broke out I was carrying the ball into the other zone. It stopped play of course. I gave the ball to brett, and he promptly wanted to play. I had no interest in running back again.

It should count, but it was a 5-3 at best.

Brett said...

4 on 3. Dale wasn't playing either.

It wasn't prompt either i waited about 10 seconds as i was yelling that we were still playing. You heard me(not my fault if you didn't feel like getting back), Borges heard me, everyone heard me and that's when i resumed play. I realize the goal counts anyway so i don't know why i'm making a case for myself, but i definitely didn't try to sneak in and get an extra goal.

And i just want to say thank you to Johnny for getting the stats up in a reasonable time frame for this week

Montreal is only 10 minutes away from the tournament site. Sweet.

Tony should play as many games in saugus as he can before Montreal.
John, do you know if he's playing Sunday?

Billy the Kid said...

Im in for either 6 or 7.....7 is good

Lets make it 6:30 that way we can start right at
7....lets make a special effort to be there at 6:30

JB said...

Yeah I had like 5 other assists. A couple goals also after everyone left. I yelled we were still playing so those count.
I love this game!

John said...

Darrin, I tried texting Tony but haven't heard back. He will need as much practice as possible before MTL. I hope he will be there Sunday as it's a great matchup when you two faceoff...as opposed to me having to jump in net against you!

Brett said...

Talk about panicking, Borges. Frendon a little too close for comfort for you?

Brett said...

That's because no matter who wins, they haven't accomplished anything.

Borges beating you isn't an accomplishment(even though he's played a lot less games) because he's way better than you in every way shape or form.

If you beat Borges, it doesn't change the fact that you still don't know how to play defense or even give support to your defensemen. It just shows that you can score at a decent pace against weak competition.

No one should have respect for one another or for themselves based on their scoring totals in crappy talented pick-up street hockey. You take Saugus way too seriously.

The white flag is up! I guess I can take off the next couple of weeks and rest up for Montreal.

And p.s. It was a runaway if you factor in games played and the shameful Kazes week!

To bad you didn't agree to the shirt or else you would have looked so nice in the pink xxxxxl I planned on getting for you. {:^) -|<

Check out that sweet guy I created to show how much fun I have posting. That's a copywrite symbol so no copying!

John said...

The thing to look at when it comes to points are:

1. Who are you scoring against. A week like two weeks ago where Brendon had 11 points against Kazes helps to skew the stats.

2. How a person is getting their points. Someone like Brett gets a lot of important assists where he actually makes a pass that he intended. Yet I'd say 50-70% of the assists in Saugus have very little value to the goal that was scored.
