New Poll! Woot!
The definition of a "backbone"??
The backbone of a team is not always the best player, though it usually is. To answer the poll question ask yourself these questions:
1) Does the player come through when it matters?
2) Is his absense in any given week easily covered over by the play of others? Is his play easily replaced?
3) Does he make the players around him better? Does his wing mates/defensive pair play better because of him?
4) Is he calm/cool when the pressure is on? Does he reflect anti-turtle qualities?
5) Do players get "coached up" by him? (This may eliminate Borges)
6) Is he very intimidating because of his matching sweatsuit combo and skin complexion? (Like Reggie, for example)
Vote!! Vote! Vote!!!

let me remind everyone that we won our first game of the season without Jared. Seems that 6 goal performance has stuck with people. Johnny had 6 goals in Saugus last week so it's not that rare a thing.
good point...i should change my vote.
I'm offended I didn't make that list. My backbone is rather large. Just call me "Lenny Ice"!
Just kidding - I'm sure your talking about your Monday night sissy league :P
i can add you lenny, but you will be just like 90% of us...with no votes.
Finally feeling healthy after the having the flu. Hope you guys don't get it.
Next week I'll actually take a stab at that stat sheet, unless trying to read it makes me feel sick again.
Nick we also had the fill in goalie last week before Tony got there who pitched a shutout thru the first 3 or 4 minutes of play.
I'd vote he is the backbone. And 12 voters already? We don't have 12 people on the team never mind who look at this site anymore.
I blame Brett.
For kicks, I looked up the websites "stats" for today.
We have had 8 different devices vote on the poll:
2 via Ipad/iphone
1 via Mac
5 Windows
In other words, the math says half of our voting community probably voted at least twice. Good for us.
Tony's performance was worse than it appeared on the surface? That's impressive.
Are we playing sunday?
not this sunday joe.
it stinks you cant make it to dracut
How's the knee nick?
Day and Night. So much better. The swelling is gone. I ditched the crutches. I could run a freakin marathon. I was giddy to be able to shovel the porch yesterday. Im so pumped.
When I woke up Monday with my knee the size of a football and I couldn't put any weight on it, I was nervous. Thankfully it's just a "sprain". Fast recovery.
Common sense probably says not to play Monday but that temptation will be great.
Sorry Joe. I would say maybe in two weeks since there is the gap between the aft title game and the super bowl
if i dont get votes for the poll after my performance last night, then the whole thing is rigged
the stats at breakawayhockeydek.com are just as inaccurate as the ones on this site
These stats are 98.2 % accurate. I have done the research.
You did help on that penalty kill.
Great win last night but it was kind of depressing for me. My knee didn't rebound like I had hoped or expected. I'm not sure I will be playing the next couple weeks if something doesn't drastically change.
Hopefully playoff ready. But I'm not confident.
Brendon, there's been several Sundays where we were trying to get people to play and you were more interested in watching the Pats steamroll some pathetic 3-win team...it could have made a difference as to whether we had played.
I'm hoping that we'll be playing a week from Sunday.
