No Pats this Sunday - Who can play this Sunday? 4:00 outside rink

It's been a couple of months since we played in Saugus.  It'd be nice to get a game in before the Pats are in the playoffs.  Who would be able to play this Sunday?

Please note: Just to complicate matters: the rinks are being used pretty extensively this weekend.  The only thing available Sunday is 4-6 (outside) or 3-5 (inside).  Can you guys still make one of those times?  If not, then we'll have to reschedule.

In: John, Griff, Brett, Lenny, Jared, Joe, Nick, Dale,Mike w, Tony (G), Steve (G)
Out: Mike D, Billy, brendon, Elliot

Brendon, I agree about playing on Sundays so hopefully we get to play this week.

As far as last night though, I actually thought our line played pretty well.

what time are you thinking john?

good game last night guys, we had some breakdowns but I thought that was one of our best games of the year. It was fun.

finally we didn't try to kill the clock with a one goal lead. I'm sure i wasn't the only one who was saying "here we go again" when they made it a one goal game. We finally dug in our heels and scored that "next goal" which we haven't done in a long time, if ever this season.

Johnny our line looked good cause we had Jared on it for half the game.

good win win monday guys! we had two full lines and everyone stepped up and played really good.
we came out alittle flat and they scored the first goal but we quickly evened it up 1-1 on a goal by jared out front tapping in a rebound off of his own shot.
not long after that they came back and scored again. wew were getting pressure but they were able to gain the zone in the first period and get some shots off. we tied it up before the second ended. brett fed jonny out front and he was stoned but stayed with it and was able to find his shot and roof it.(must have been his 5 practice shots before the game!)
that was the start of guys finally spreading out the scoring. ward gave us the lead on a nice hustle play and scored to make it 3-2.
later in in the second i got a pass from jared and beat the goalie 5 hole to make it 4-2. the defense did a great job staying composed. making passes out of the zone and picking there spots to pinch in. the score stayed 4-2 until there was about 3 minutes left in the third when they scored on a shot from the outside.
oh no! here we go again!
but amazingly we didnt panic and just played our game. we dominated the next shift and held the ball in there zone. then brett got the goalie to comitt took it wide and had a nice goal from a tough angle. immediatly following that i took the face off win fed brett who made a nice pass to jared for the dagger goal. final score 6-3.
nice work by all. it great to see us finish a team. keep it up!

next game is 700.

Hey guys, let me know if you can do either 3-5 or 4-6. Unfortunately there is not much availability this week.

Either or. I think inside would be better if possible. I don't know what the weather will be.

Either works for me

after watching video of how terrible Saugus hockey is, i think we should all be ban from playing there again. But i'm actually in. Change of plans. Could do 4-6 outside. Gonna be a pretty decent day Sunday

I tried asking Brendon but he didn't think it would happen since he has the 2:30 start time for the meeting.

Are we on for 4:00 outside?

what a night for stats

Billy the Kid said...

Lets hope tonight is a great stat night too!!!

John said...

That stat sheet is going to be one mess to go through!

Brett said...

there is zero chance the stats will be accurate going off that stat sheet. Just give everyone 10 points each. And that's being conservative.

Everyone except TJ...

1 goal
2 assists if that helps.

GAME RECAP

We won last night in a classic shootout, 10-9. We were shorthanded with Brett, John, Nick, and Griff missing the game for various reasons. That left us with only 7 guys against 14. So even though we let up so many goals, we felt good about the win after as we battled thru adversity.

Player of the game: Jared

No debate here as he scored 6 goals including the game winner in OT off a rebound. Also goal #2 was of the highlight variety, scoring off his own rebound while diving head first on the ground. Just a tremendous effort.

Best impersonation of Nick: Billy

Had a goal go in deflected off his foot. (For the other team) Had one good scoring opportunity and missed the net by 4 feet, give or take. Generally played decent defense.

Goat of the game: Their goalie

Only 1 word describes his play. Terrible. Swiss cheese. OK, 3 words. Tony was not much better, but did make one big save in OT, so that saved the night.

Who would have thought dracut would be the better stat night?

Glad I stayed home last night - still feeling awful today.

Nick said...

wow, you guys were really short handed. Nice work.

Billy, they say impersonation is the greatest form of flattery...lol.

Jared said...

Yesterday was ridiculous but its always fun beating a team being outnumbered by at least six guys.

There's no doubt there's no other team that hustles as much as ours which is fun to be a part of. late in the third we are so much more tired than they were but still out run them to so many balls.

I do not see this team losing another game with a full roster!!! How's that for an over reaction?!?

Brett said...

definitely an impressive win from the sound of it.

I agree with Jared. Almost all of our losses have been by one goal. All games we could have won. And now that we've all played together a good amount and are in a groove i think we're gonna keep on rolling

Nick said...

I like how you added the asterik with the "if we have a full roster" line.

you're really putting yourself out there. lol.
