Hi guys,
Who could play this Sunday, let's say around 5:30?
We are playing this Sunday at 6:00. I think it's the outside rink.
In: John, Brendon, Elliot, Andrew, Billy, Griff, Brett (+ 3?), Joe, Ron, Ronnie, Cindy, Darrin (G), Rick G (goalie).
Maybe / Haven't heard from: Dale, Jared, JB, Brad

Yeah, I asked for last week. Johnny said he would have them up.
With my huge 2 goal 2 assist performance, I was very excited to pass Frendon, Lenny, and Nick in points...
Stats will be up, really going to try to post them tomorrow.
So far we have: John, Brendon, Elliot, Andrew, Billy, Griff, Brett (+ 3?).
I think Dale and Joe would be in but I still have to hear from them. I need to hear back from goalies too. If I get some definite answers I can book the rink tomorrow.

Player wise we are starting to look good but I need to hear from some goalies. We need at least 2 of Darrin, Tony, or my father. Steve can't make it Sunday.
I'll play 3 on 3 with no goalies if that's what it takes to keep Saugus alive for future generations
I say Frendon and Brett play net! That would be fun.
I wonder if Brett could go coast to coast, in full goalie equipment, and score on Frendon. I say yes...
Billy I don't think I'd need to go coast to coast to score. I like my chances from 200 feet

I will say that it was an injury that I got only because "someone" was being a lazy defender ( again) and had to do the reach of a stick in between my legs.

11 That Kid – He didn’t run too much and he really hated touching the ball with his stick. But give him credit for playing with a bunch of people he doesn’t know. I think he made a nice pass once or twice. Probably only once.
10 The Goalie for Dark Team – Ron’s shot would scare me too. Yet he posted a shutout. Those just don’t happen that often in Saugus. Takes some real effort and maybe even a little bit of luck to get a shutout in Saugus. Competition is just too good.
9 Elliot – Had some great battles for the ball. Think he lost every single battle, but the effort was there and he was rewarded with a goal.
8 Andrew? Aaron? (one of those) – 5 points I believe!!! That’s more than what some of the regulars got!!! The future is bright for Sunday Night Saugus! Blindingly bright! Just think of how good these young ones will be in 8 years when they finally hit puberty.
7 Johnny – I blame it on the completely different floor surface Saugus has than Dracut. It’s that OTHER type of hard plastic tiles that interlock. Probably was the top scorer still, but 6 out of 172 shots isn’t something to be proud of. Couldn’t score on the breakaway. Nick scored on a breakaway. NICK!!!

5 Darrin – Another shutout? Again, I can’t stress enough how hard it is to get a shutout in Saugus with such great talent buzzing around the net all game. That last save on Johnny was tremendous. Or was it just a case of Johnny “putting it exactly where he wanted to”……..right into the goalies pad instead of the other half of the net?
4 Griff – What a soldier. A stalwart on defense. You don’t win 3 out of 4 games on the night without someone like Griff on the backend. Think Denis Seidenburge with a Johnny Boychuck type shot.
3 Joe – Thanks for coming.
2 Brett & Ron – Who really cares about what they did? Honestly?
1 Jared – He really knows how to take advantage of the inconsistent floating blueline that no one really understood. Remember when he made sure he got the shot away for the goal instead of letting his 12 ½ year old teammate take the shot? What determination! Kudos to you sir. You just never know when you’re gonna get another glorious chance to score on a goalie who’s never played before. Gotta take advantage of that.

Working on the stats for the past 3 weeks we played right now.
Brett, you had 5 goals, 3 assists this past week.
Jared, you had 5 goals, 6 assists although I'm removing 2 goals for blatant offsides.
3 assists? thats it? O thats right my linemates couldn't hit open nets.
Well, that and poor passing on 2 on nones...but yeah, couldn't score yesterday.
Stats are up. That was more exhausting then playing yesterday.
Sorry to be a stickler....but the stats are wrong. I have 3 goals, not 2. I scored yesterday and twice the last time we played. Trust me, I score so little, I know when I do.
Reading my last post, 2 things stand out:
1) I think I sound like Frendon. Quibbling about stats. Somebody help me....

Quick side note: The term riding shotgun comes from the old west and stagecoaches. To try to prevent robberies, someone would ride along next to the stagecoach driver while holding a shotgun. I learned that on Pawnstars.

Who's in for playing Sunday in Haverhill at 4? I know me and Darrin are in. We have our meeting moved to Monday cause of the memorial so we can't play in the league. So lets play Sunday. Eric would be in too.

I think I'd be willing to try and make it monday after the meeting...dracut is like 20 mins from the hall...and half the time the late games don't start on time.

I was going to try to setup a game for Sunday but it looks like Brett already started. I'll put a main board post up there, but a couple of things:
1. When Brett says Haverhill are we talking Haverhill or Lawrence?
2. There is a full rink in Methuen but Jared would need to bring the nets if we were to play there.
3. There is an outdoor dek rink in Salem that Borges said was only 30. Brendon had called and they said $130. Would this be preferable if it was only $30?
I say haverhill cause that's where we had the haverhill cup. the 30$ place only has half boards. I wanna play in haverhill cause that way 12 guys is plenty plus get use to the surface and 3 on 3.
