BREAKING NEWS!

Big Board has just learned that there has been a major trade accepted for the upcoming Haverhill Cup.

General Managers Jared and Johnny were back and forth all day tweaking the trade and it has just been finalized.

Jared has traded Billy Driscoll, Mike Demaio, and Hunky Tony to Johnny for Darrin Driscoll, Ryan Griffin, and Andrew Mcteenager.

Big Board was the first to report this news.

It was a needed trade for both sides.

Further reports also indicate that Jared gave up a third round pick in next Cup's draft.

Wow, Johnny becomes relevant again and gives his team a chance to hoist the cup. Jared opts for solid D and his own offensive skills to propel his team to victory.

Interesting trade... I need to chew on this for a while before deciding what is means for the rest of the field.

What a bold move by both sides. They found their weaknesses and improved on them. But at what cost? Jonny giving up the top goalie and Jared giving up one of the top players. I guess only time will tell.
I would like to hear the reactions of those involved in the trade. There could be bitterness from those moving parts making for an epic Haverhill cup! The saga grows.

Tough call, but we would have had to rely a little too much on goaltending.

I am expecting some great performances from Tony to go with what should be a strong offense.

The question remains: will this be the only trade or is this the domino that sets other moves in motion?

You don't like the trade because it makes both teams better brendon? Good reasoning.

My only fear now is it seems I really motivated Billy, but I say he needed a change of scenery to get his career back on track.

Being a GM you can't become to attached to your players, they are just assetts! Who knows brendon, maybe i'll swing a trade for you before all is said and done.

According to BB pre-draft rankings I have 4 players in the top 10 now. However, we all agree Johnny had no chance with his previous team. You can't have elliot and Andrew together.

Me thinks Frendon has too much time on his hands...

I don't want a shoot out for a playoff game. At least a couple minutes of overtime. We need official rules Brett. Please don't say play on rules we aren't calling penalties for snapshots

Nick said...

its pronounced slapshots...

no matter how much apple wants you to write snapshot.

Brett said...

What other rule is there? We did those rules last time and it was fine. Why can't a captain from one of the teams not playing be a ref? I don't want a close call but over the top calls could be made. Other than the slapshot rule I feel like everything else is self explanitory. Any penalty is a penalty shot. Shootout in the season. Sudden death in playoffs. Complaining constantly gets u kicked out no matter how ridiculous the call or non call. Glad u gave me the power of making the rules. I tend to abuse power.

Brett said...

Do we all agree there should b a ref?

Brett said...

Everyone has to agree not to get too worked up over calls or it won't work.

Billy the Kid said...

I think we need a ref too. I don't think another captain is the answer however. The calls he makes could directly affect which team he plays next. I would hate to think that someone would make calls to try and maneuver the seeding, but you never know.

Brett said...

But then if Reggie is the ref you could argue that he favors the team his friends are on. Or enemies. Remember I have the racist Nick Burton on my team. I feel like we'd get a couple calls against us

Jared said...

I trust JB Johnny and Brett to ref any game, there's not going to be many penalties and that's pretty stupid to make up calls because you are rooting for someone. I hate everyone equally.

Okay I have a proposition for overtime that I saw in a tournament.

If a game goes into O.T. the first 3 minutes we play 3 on 3. If no goal whistle blows, you play 2 on 2 for 2 minutes. No goal, whistle blows, it's 1 on 1 for a minute. Then shootout if somehow a goal isn't scored.

Let me know what you guys think i thought that would be really fun to watch, since you can still sub.

Brett said...

In a one on one can a goalie use a players stick and jump in on the rush?

Jared said...

absolutely or maybe you dont want to bother with a goalie if you want you and eric out there against one guy and a goalie

Billy the Kid said...

Those OT rules are interesting. I like it.

Do they apply to both the regular season and the playoffs? Or are the playoffs strictly 3 on 3 until someone scores?

Brett said...

I feel like both are gimmicks. Either or. Doesn't matter to me

JB said...

I actually agree with brendon.

Jared said...

I agree nothing like an individual shoot out to build team chemistry. It's not like jb is going to choose you to play in the shoot out either brendon so what's the difference?

Brett said...

we could do paper rock sissors

JB said...

How about rock, paper? I'm undefeated!

Brett said...

Inside joke

Jared said...

I will not confirm or deny that I have lost a very challenging game of rock paper.

Like Brett said both ways are just gimmicks for regular season.

Brett said...

i don't think JB wants to go to a shootout.

hahaha first time in a while a post made me laugh. Poor Jack
