All of the hockey that we thought we would be able to play this summer never really happened, primarily due to not having goalies. Hopefully, with the unofficial start of fall, we will be able to get a couple of goalies and start the season.
Before we start, what rules do we want? Do we take an attempt at penalties / power plays? Do we go with timed games or games to 5? Icing, offsides stay the same? Let me know your preferences in the comments.
Also, let me know if you can make the first Sunday.

Well ill start. I'm in for Sunday. I think we could try penalty shots for real self called penalties this year. Also if we did what acton hockey does and have set teams to a certain extent people will show up more often.
I agree. like seeing the teams a couple days in advance. but ron sends out a mass text/email every week on Wednesdays and then who ever responds by Thursday he makes up the teams.
no ones gonna call penalties on themselves. especially after a game 1 argument. and then well all complain when frendon doeant call himself for a viscous boarding. great idea, no chance at working.
don't rule me out. gotta get off to a good start.
I say the Prators would rather play. Elliot I'm sure is looking to be in the top 5 scoring this year, and skipping weeks early will ruin those chances.
Brett you must be so excited to get back from Italy to play some 4 on 4 street hockey.

Penalty's will never work unless we get a Ref. That's not going to happen.
I like timed games better.
Icing and offsides are what they are.
I do like the idea of having picked the teams in advance. That would add a little competitiveness to the event.
The way that I think the penalties could work out is if the two captains are the ones that decide it, and have the final say.
That would actually add a twist to picking the teams in advance. The captains can work the teams out throughout the week.
Brendon, can you move the night of the draft? If not then at least ask the Praters if they would like to play that night - autodraft usually picks a better team.

Jared you can fly halfway around the world and still not duplicate the experience and the excitement that 4 on 4 dek hockey brings to ones heart. although staying in a Villa on a mountain side overlooking a black rock beach comes pretty close.
Are you staying in Tuscany? Because I heard there wasnt any places to rent in Tuscany.
I've texted a couple of goalies, I am still waiting to hear back. If we play at 7:00 I might be able to get Steve in net, and then I could try for my father or Rick Green.
If I can't get goalies this week then I can try for next week instead, but it's been long enough already!
Additionally, at some point in September / October I will likely try to email Danno and some of his guys as needed.

Ward is in for sunday, but i'm guessing goalies will doom us another week.
Jared, I am still waiting to hear from Darrin and Tony, but if Steve can play this week at 7:00 I can set that as the start time and try for my father or Rick for the other net...not all is lost yet!

So im on the same page... Frendon you wont do the score board because why? Your scared of the guy behind the counter? He might yell at you? Dirty looks every time you use it? I dont understand how this guy traumatized you so much that you cant dare ask to borrow it again! I fail to see the problem.

Not that its a big deal...games to 5 are fine. It just sounds like you dont want to do it, which I understand. No one wants to do it! But just say you dont want to do it. Your excuse was kinda weird is all.
I have no problem bringing the scoreboard down - except when I have goalie stuff.
This weekend it will not matter though since we will not have any goalies again. I just heard back from Tony and Steve.
The goalie situation is starting to get annoying. My father should be able to play most times starting in a couple of weeks, but we need one or two more consistent options between Darrin, Tony, Steve, or Rick.
Seems to me like we have enough guys for football.
