Haverhill Cup Lottery Order

The Lottery night started a bit shaky with Ashley dragging her feet to put the kids to bed but finally her bluff was called and she started pulling names out of a hat. The first piece of paper she picked had the name.......JOHNNY RILEY!

The second......JARED MEADOWS

Third.......BRETT DRISCOLL

And for the second year in a row Borges got the forth pick.

I could've sworn I posted the stats from last year somewhere on this site. Johnny did I give them to you?

Gotta start archiving them.

I was told we were thin on D but Im not so sure. besides Eric and Ron is there anyone you can count on to score?

Nick said...

then u have to ask, does ron have the endurance to last all day?

Will Eric wear boots?

frendon said no to the haverhill cup?

Nick said...

anyone else have a way they thick the draft will go?

Nick said...

in other news...if johnny misses out on the draft I get first pick!!!!

Jared said...

Nick I would plan on Johnny picking u first. I doubt Darin will get picked high, I actually think he may slide back to Johnny.

Nick said...

I understand if I went before Ron but not Eric.

Eric could carry a team

Nick said...

Who is jb taking at four then?

Brett said...

Nick u seem to forget that all the captains are scoring threats and are the ones who should carry a team. The picks are complimentary. My mock draft.

Both mock drafts have Jared picking me. No way that happens. Jared never picks me. He doesn't like my game. :)

Not to mention he likes playing against me, thinking he can burn me every time...

JB said...

Is jack playing or mike Melo? Need to know before the draft. Can't have floating picks.

Brett said...

Maybe we should just have mike seeing as johnny cant legally shoot on his dad. Kinda makes the draft fairer.

Jared said...

Johnny any early hints on who you will be drafting first overall?

And can we get some stats updated? What happened to inputing atleast a couple weeks?

Good for Brendon deleting his entire blogger account. If only he got his one last post in to claim a spot on the Haverhill cup.

JB said...

Is it definetly Melo. I need to finalize my power rankings.

John said...

Tanking for number 1! I will talk to my father tonight to see if he is playing or not.

I will do another week of stats today which will put my almost through October...so just two months behind.

I am 90% sure who my first pick will be...

Brett said...

Johnny I hope you're interviewing potential candidates for that first pic.

Billy the Kid said...

Johnny learned from last year. He has to take Eric.

Any other choice is just, well, foolish...

Johnny remember last year, your number 1 pick didn't carry you to a championship. Heck you didn't even get to the championship round if memory serves. I think your best chance to win is to think outside the box. It's no secret your number one teammate is another team captain, so where do you go from here? I think you need to do some in-depth analysis on what you think your teams structure should be, and then draft accordingly. I will give you a tip, don't do what you initially did with your 1st pick last year, before the re-draft happened. LOL

But don't get me wrong, I'm not thinking I'm close to being considered a top pick. As everyone knows, I haven't played street hockey for a couple months now. Plus it appears that people don't think I can get through the whole tournament without breaking down. No endurance they say. I guess age and alot of miles is dropping my perceived value. That's ok, at least I still have my memory and can target some peoples back side with a good hard shot the next time I play against them :) Jk

I might have to go see Tony Bosch to see if he has any new miracle drugs (legal ones of course) that can help me contribute as a 2nd stringer and not be a liability out there with the chance to hoist the prestigious Haverhill cup.

So when is the draft happening?

Brett said...

Friday ron at buffalo wild wings after hockey

Brett said...

Btw ron the haverhill cup has no banned substances. Everything is allowed.

John said...

I think I had the number 2 pick last year. Jared went number 1 I think.

And to answer Billy, Eric is definitely under consideration for the number 1 spot!

Brett said...

Last year eric was like payton manning. Great in the season, collapse in the playoffs. 0 goals in 2 playoff games for the entire team if I recall correctly. Bobbys stock skyrocketed.

Ron said...

Whose got the most presser to draft well and win this years Haverhill cup?

Here's my take.

Johnny- With the potential to have Eric for the 2nd year in a row, I think Johnny has the most pressure to figure this thing out. Can he pull it off? Before the draft, I'd say he's an underdog to win it this year. Last year going undefeated in the regular season, only to choke in the playoffs. Can't let that happen again johnny. He's like Peyton Manning, minus the contract and football skills, among other things.

JB- Having the last pick two years in a row is tough love for sure. But JB is a hockey rockstar and even picking last he should not finish playing for 3rd place like last year. JB has some pressure on him too, at the very least make it to the championship round. Anything less means he should have the C striped from his resume. Does he blame his draft slot, or does he will his team to victory?

Brett- Coming close to winning it last year I don't think Brett has a ton of pressure. Plus Brett can still ride on his past accomplishments with that winning goal in the North American Muckler Division Championship tournament a couple years ago. He has cemented his place as a hall of famer with that clutch performance. But this is a new year and Brett needs to stay hydrated this year. His cramps in the championship game last year doomed his team.

Jared. Riding high as the defending Champion, Jared is in good shape this year. His savvy GM skills allowed him to form a winning team last year, Plus his incredible ability to pump the tires of the field of draft pics causes other captains to perform trades and other moves that make Jared out to be a genius.

Brett said...

The big question no one had bothered to ask yet is, "is reggie going to be allowed to ref again?"

Ron said...

Of course Jared having Scott on his team helped. But I remember Scott played soft early on. Jared was able to get Scott to be a beast in the playoffs.

Brett said...

Prime bb opportunity in this discussion.

Nick said...

90% ? what could change your mind?

If Billy T is in all out beast mode tomorrow night, will he be number 1??

Billy the Kid said...

I can't play tomorrow night. Only Saturday, which doesn't look like is happening.

Obviously didn't read my post....no one ever listens to me...

Ron said...

I might take your spot then Billy. Unlike you, I have the power to change plans.

Going into beast mode though? Nope, you got me on that one

Brett said...

as short as it is, the highlights from last years cup is a good video.

JB said...

I would love to know frendons take on how I got last pick to years in a row. The odds were stacked in my favor. What are the odds?

Brett said...

Have you ever thought that Ashley is rigging the lottery?

John said...

My father is in for the Haverhill cup

Brett said...

Ok perfect. Mike im sure someone will drop out within the next 3 months.

Billy the Kid said...

Ron, you've inspired me...

I was able to move heaven and earth and now I'm in baby!!

Oh, and Mike D is in too.

John said...

Billy, it's that type of commitment that could land you some consideration as a number one pick!

Brett said...

Either way, no one should be disappointed where they're drafted. To be a top 16 pick is quite an accomplishment in the nhl
