Season Expectations
2014-2015
Team White (Jared’s team)
Goalie – You know what you’re getting with Jack or Rick. It’s not always bad and it’s not always good. Look for them to frustrate Jared more than the Dark team. Jared is already counting down the days till Dave makes his 2 week visit. I’m looking at a 3.85 GAA for Team White’s goalies combined.
Andrew – The better Pratter discussion isn’t nearly as good as the better Driscoll one, but this year Andrew will put up slightly better numbers than Elliot. Especially since he won’t be getting any drama parts ever again. Look for Andrew to hit the 100 point plateau with ease. *disclaimer* as long as no less than 300 games are played in the 14-15 season
Frendon – Oh Frendon. What’s left to say? Could he possibly use the hilarious summer beating he took on this blog as motivation? Probably not. But I do think he’ll have a bounce back year in stat keeping. As long as Ashley doesn’t get a hold of the official stat sheet, he should get 35 goals and at least 50 assists (all phantom assists) with Jared scoring in bunches.
Mike W – I do think Montreal will help Mike. Kinda like how it helped Nick a while back. Mike’s speed will be uncontested with Jared on his team, playing opposite wing. The only problem I can maybe see is Ward having to play D some weeks, which will dampen his numbers. But not his value. With eyes on Montreal 2015, I can see more games played than ever and Ward finally breaking the 1PPG mark for a season.
Mike D – Mike had a very good Haverhill Cup and a very good last 2 months of the season. Most people start to deteriorate rapidly at that age *cough* Ron *cough*. Mike’s refusal to play defense shows he’s finally joined the crowd in craving stats(or maybe he thinks staunchly refusing to play defense adds to his ruggedness) Stats validate everything we think of ourselves. Mike should find the back of the net 30 times, but no more than 300 times.
Nick – Even though Nick will be working on his offense, his numbers will decrease this year. Trying to remove, or at least decrease, the “up the boards” play from his play book and making quick, smart passes will lead to more turnovers than usual. One step back will hopefully mean 2, if not more, steps forward for when it really matters. Between 20 and 25 goals and a boat load of icings.
Jared – Has his work cut out for him this year. Has less offense to work with than one might think. And a lot of games are going to depend on him scoring rapidly and out pacing Team Dark’s offense (I know that’s the point of every game but you know what I mean). His team does have a major advantage in the BMI department.

Dare I say I'm actually looking forward to Saugus, when do we start?
Typically we start around the first Sunday in September, but I am open to starting earlier if we play inside.
Let's play this Sunday!!
Let's find out who would be in. If we have enough then I will call the rink.
In
I will text Austin, Elliot and Andrew, and try to find another goalie. Then we will just need to know from Frendon, Mike D, Jared, Ward, Griff, and JB.

Over/under Johnny has to tie his shoes mid game this year?
Don't take short cut when tying your shoes. You could end up with a granny knot.
Words of wisdom.
I'm in, Ward I'm sure is in too.
With the amount of games projected to play this year and how few people will care about defense it'll be like the late 90's baseball with stats.
Where's Brady Anderson Nick?
Austin and the Praters are in.
Stats are updated through April 13 now.
When's dark team previews?
Wpr said soon
7 or 8 start time sunday? Got a kids party during the day.
I can do a 7:00 start. We need to hear from JB, Griff, and one more goalie and then I can book the rink.
And...finally...stats are done for last season! I will update the career and rival stats tomorrow.
Player wise, assuming JB or Griff is in we would be fine for playing this week, but we still only have Brett in net. I will ask my father but I think that the chances are very high that he will play this week. So then the only options are Darrin or Tony but I don't know if either will be able to play this week.
Who's in?
I saw Steve @ convention & he said he'd play, might want try him
Mike, the following players would be in for Sunday:
John, Mike D, Billy, Austin, Andrew, Elliot, Jared, Ward, and Nick. We also have Brett for one net.
I am trying to get another goalie, but so far no success. Mike, Rick, and Steve all can't play this week. I am trying for my father but I have my doubts he will play instead of hanging out by the pool, but we'll see.
I am still waiting to hear from Brendon, Griff, and JB, which will at least make up the core of each respective team.
BTW, career stats and Rival stat pages are updated now too.
Some things that I found interesting with the stats:
Elliot ended up tying Brendon for points on the season, and was fourth in goals.
Based on winning percentage, you want to be on Billy's team to win. If you really want to win then make sure that Brett is on your team (albeit with a much smaller sample size).
Billy ran away with the team goal differential this year.
Each week (on average) JB's teams were perfectly balanced.
Congrats to Cindy for double-digit goals.
Jared is only 7 points behind me in career points.
Billy and Nick might be the best rivalry - each have 64 wins against each other.
Another interesting stat, Griff has twice as many shutouts in net than Brett
I guess wpr shouldve waited for the final stats. Alot of what he said is already out of date.
That last week with a twisted ankle killed my ppg. 2 or 3 games "played" and 0 points, leaving jared with the only 2+ ppg on the season.
The one thing I wish for this season is weekly box scores. I forgot how engrossing stats are. We believe in you johnny.
I've improved the stat entry process so it should only take me about 15 minutes each week to do the stats instead of the almost 45 minutes it used to be. So weekly stats, box scores, career stats can be done each week this year.
As for this Sunday, I should find out tonight if my father can play. If not then Darrin will be our last chance.
Nick's winning percentage was only slightly behind Billy's, yet goal differential was not even close. Apparently Billy was on the winning side of a lot of lop-sided games.
+/- baby....
Here is the update for Sunday: Brendon is away for a couple of weeks so he is out. Also, JB is going to be away this week, and I have not heard from Griff. Cindy spoke to my father last night and he said that he might play this Sunday, but I don't have a definite yet.
If my father plays and we get at least one more person like Griff or Joe to commit then we could still try to play Sunday. If not though I am fine waiting until next week. I don't think we should start the season at less than 5 on 5.
Lets wait till next week then. Dark teams season preview isnt even ready yet anyway
I can't play next week. Going away.
Billy, just cancel your plans...it's a very easy solution!
dark team previews?
my biggest issue with the set teams is that I would like to play more wing this year and with set teams we all know my "value" to team white wont be as a winger.
We gonna try play this Sunday?
I would like to. Who is in?
Nick your joking right?
im in for sunday
behind every joke is a little bit of truth...
im in for sunday
