Rumor has it (I have my sources) that I was only put down for one goal last night. Let it be known I had two dominate goals. First goal was the first goal of the night with Demaio assisting and the second goal was a backhand from the corner off of my Monkey Billy's leg...I want both goals reflected on the scoring sheet this week or I will have you all tied up in court for years!!!!! Don't play me...you will lose...
I wrote lasts weeks recap and it was pretty dull. No controversy lead to no comments. PPP would definitely do better, but I heard he is already in winter vacation mode in Tahiti chillin in one of those on the water huts they have.
Anyways, the 3 most memorable plays last night for me was.
1. Game 1- Jared and Johnny lead the Dark team to came back to tie it up at 4-4... After some good zone time in the dark sides end, the ball gets out to Jared on the off wing. A sure fire two on one with Johnny and Jared against Nick. But alas, Nick steps up and pokes the ball free to an awaiting team mate who makes no mistake and buries it. Jared takes out his frustration on the court with an epic stick smash that shatters a piece of the courts tile... An instant classic for sure! Jared badly wanted that first win of the nite, but was denied by his nemesis Nick
2. Earlier in game 1, Jared had a partial break away, but came in from behind and wrapped my stick around him, but that wasn't enough to slow him down :) so I might have reached out with my free hand which probably did impede his scoring attempt... I guess it was obvious to everyone except me. JB stepped up and called it an egregious play... penalty shot was awarded. Jared came down for the deek on Jack... but Jack guessed right and easily stopped the shot.
3. Nicks game winner that capped a game two 5-0 win for team white. Coming over the boards for a substitute on a forward position late in the game, Nick was aggressive. He received a pass from Griff I think, and Nick took the ball in full stride from the center line. Billy was in hot pursuit the second Nick got that pass. The slightest delay and Billy would of broke up the play, but Nick stick handles the ball nicely and got it on his forehand... Nick buried it top shelf for the game winner.
That goal was the prettiest goal of the night, or one could argue the goal Elliot scored. He received a beautiful pass from Mike D I think, and made a sweet deek on Joe to score. Iggie did set the tone for the white team with a nice tough angle shot for the first goal of the night. And yes it was Iggy who scored on that goal that went off Billy's foot. Again from a tough angle... it hits off Billy and it was a slow roller and seemed to take forever to cross the line.
Notable note... JB tried almost everyone at center so as to cover Johnny in the slot. It couldn't be done as Johnny had his way most of the night. I think he scored 4 of 5 goals from a stand still in the slot. Don't ask me how he's left alone so much. I admit that I leave him alone when I think he's out of range... but he proves otherwise 9 times out of 10 it seems. But none the less, the combo of Jared, Johnny and MVW couldn't score enough goals to have a winning record for the night.
Don't worry Iggy, I will try to look at the stat sheet and see where it was mistaken. Do you know the game for sure that it happened?
On a side note I need to improve my scoring off of the rush. I would have had a couple of more goals if I could have hit the net with a wrist shot while I was coming down the wing. I'll add it to my jogging drill this week!
Iggy scored 2 goals. I remember, especially the one that went off me. I had a terrible first 2 games. I was better after that, which is to say I was still below average.
Or as Jared told me last night: "I view you as a #2 or #3 defenseman... For Saugus"
Johnny, a few people have informed me that it gets dark out at 4 pm now so not sure how productive moving people in the dark will be Sunday night. Let's just keep it at 6 sunday and worse case you're a few minutes late.
And I don't think ignads is specific enough in remembering his goal and like Brendon said, he had his chance to steal the stat sheet and make changes.
This post is getting too long, but I do want to touch on the fact that brendon still reads the blog and clicks refresh more than anybody, but for some reason likes to respond via emails to us instead. Pure insanity.
I'm always there before the goalies suit up, although if my father is driving with me then that becomes pretty easy.
I ended up booking 7-9, inside rink since Billy said he could not play before then, and it gives me some time to pick my father up on the way back from Manchester.
Actually, Brendon still has one account on the site that is active, and it's what he uses to monitor the board. He really does know within 5 minutes of everyone posting.
Johnny, your there before the goalies are dressed because were waiting for you and others to get there before we get dressed. Not gonna spend 15 minutes in pads before people are there to warm us up

Iggy is back
Mike D and I are in
Is speaking in the third person acceptable now?
Stats are up. Looks like a 2 horse race for the scoring title. Anybody want to put a side wager on this?
No way Jared beats out the King. He is way too determined this year.
Look at Joe slightly ahead of Brett in GAA. The only goalie stat that matters.
And I'm pretty sure Ignads is back in Sunday only because he saw Nick is 1 point behind him.
I won't be available this weekend. Sorry guys, no amount of beer can get me there :)
No WPR??

Why is it so hard for the stats to get written down correctly?
Thanks Mike...some people just don't take this serious enough!!
They just can't handle the duo of Demaio and Iggy and won't accept it...it is mind blowing and they can't grasp it!!!
That's right Iggy no one can handle that due, they just watch in awe...
need another recap from PPP
Yes recap. I need a full report on how swervin did this week

Only when we were on the same team.

First goal was the first goal of game one and I believe the second goal off Billy was game 2
FYI...if Broncos win tonight the pats game is being flexed to 4:25 on Sunday!!

I will have stats done on Friday.
