WEEKLY POWER RANKINGS

7 Ward

In no way, shape or form does 7th place make Mike the scapegoat (there’s no way im using that up on a lowly #7). But when your whole Saturday can be summed up with, not, “Remember that insane goal where he deked 2 guys and scored between his legs?”, not, “Remember that pass that he had to air-mail 50 feet that landed on the stick for an easy tap-in?” but “Remember that stick lift……?”. I will say that Sunday was much better, and getting a hat-trick off of a hung-over all girls team is nothing to sneeze at but I needed something more. I’m not saying I was expecting, or even hoping for, down the stretch clutch scoring or for him to elevate to some level we’ve never seen before. I just wanted some consistency. Something that his line mates could count on. And other than hustle, I was left wanting, as were his teammates. Does this count as closure?

WPR is playing dirty, attacking those in our car group. Stay strong Ignads, Ward, and Ron, we are being targeted! Wards 4 goals were more than 3 people in your car group combined.

That's really good logic Jared. Based on that logic Reilly Smith (13 goals) is a better player than Duncan Keith (10 goals). Those Norris trophy phonies...

Jared said...

mike was playing a defensive center everyone knows that.

Duncan Keith might be a little optimistic comparison of our defenseman. I'd say it's more of a Chris Kelly or Kevan Miller debate

Griff said...

I agree it's not a fair comparison but neither is the goal total argument. I thought Mike played good so even I wouldn't compare him to Kelley...That's an insult

I think comparing any of us to an NHL hockey player short of Chris Bourque is ridiculous

Griff said...

I think your ridiculous...Helllllloooooooooooooooooooo...

Can't quite see what Mike is so zoned into in his picture... but I got a good idea it calls for a nice HELLO!!!

WPR travels by company jet, not some silly car group as you implied

Nick...great pass to Ron on that first goal! Defense to Offense!

But that goal gets no credit toward my car group!!!

Thanks Billiam

Jared, what NHL player are you?

Jared said...

Steve Heinz...did you know he was legit denied by the Bruins the number 57?

Nick said...

like the ketchup?

Nick said...

wikipedia:

Because of his last name, Heinze requested to wear #57 (as in Heinz 57 ketchup) with the Bruins. However, the Bruins denied his request, citing they felt his surname and number combination would be viewed as an advertising gimmick for the condiment. Instead, Heinze wore #23 in Boston. He was granted #57 when he joined the Blue Jackets and he wore it for the remainder of his NHL career.

Thats kind of lame of the b's

Any thought as to if we are playing this week? Or are we done for the season?

Ron said...

We're not professional athletes that need off seasons for surgeries and or recovery time.

Let's play

What happened to golfing for the summer?

Jared said...

Id be in for Sunday, Ward I'm sure would too. Brett it's time to post game 3, the embarrassment needs to be seen by all.

Hey Billy, I haven't mentioned anything about a game since there was the softball game on Saturday so I won't be able to do hockey this week. Next week though I would definitely like to, and Dave will be here for a couple of weeks after that so we could play keep playing through June.

I would be fine playing throughout the summer either in Lawrence or Saugus, depending upon people's vacation schedules. I agree with Ron - no need for a long off season!

I can't this weekend mike, but I can next week and will try to setup a game for next Sunday.
