Don't have time to do full grades on everyone (I gave myself a D+ though. The "+" was for the goal that I stole away from Brett :)
If I did, our team would have gotten a mixed bag for the stinker we put up in game 1, but good marks for cruising in the final two games (or did the other team just give up?)
You have to question the subbing, though, especially in that final game. We subbed, JB...WE Subbed. I think Jason had more ice time than I did.
Bob wants his money back. Drew looked like he was going to puke at one point and Johnny and Nick were called out by our bench for standing around at times while Brett ran pointless circles around them.
Speaking of pointless, here's the Three Stars of the Week:
3) Iggy. Just kidding. Iggy, if I can't motivate you with a Snickers Bar, then all is lost. The real third star is Brett for playing Defense and then realizing that in hockey a good defense is not always a good offense, then switching up to O to get our scoring started. After that, it seems like we were rolling.
2) Jared put up a perplexing goose egg (with the rest of us) in the first game, and we were starting to wonder if JB's mind games had got the best of him. But then he had 4 points in game 2 and I guess that answers that. Maybe he needed Brett on O, or maybe we could have motivated him by offering to babysit his kids and buy him a round of beer if he scores first. I dunno. Snickers didn't work for Iggy, so I guess that's not a foolproof strategy....
1) Aaaaaaannnnnnd the number one Star belongs to................Mike. Mike was great. Better than great. He was Mike. Oh, I suppose you want to know WHICH Mike. Sure. Who else, but the senior citizen who ran laps around the defense (at times)...well, maybe not...but still, if you're on defense and getting beaten by an 80-year old man and then he roofs it on your goalie...I mean, c'mon! First Star!!
Honorable Mention: King Johhny. Still putting up points, but what good are they if you don't get the wins?? You have to win more than you lose to get on this list. Case-in-point: The HC. Have all the stats you want, but the only way you're gonna get JR inscribed on that thing is to get a W when it counts.

When did he win it? All the years are running together for me....maybe it was JB that I was thinking of?

Jonny won 2 years ago. I know because he was on my team, and I have NEVER lost a Haverhill Cup that I have chosen to play in... not even sure I know how it feels to lose anymore.
