Three Stars of the Game
==========================
3) Nick - Nick's leadership was on full display last night. I honestly can't blame him. Chasing Billy around is hard enough, nevermind on blades.
I mean, it's not like you have to chase around Jared or Brett or Mike W or anyone else who has a seemingly infinite supply of energy...
But I digress...that's not the point. The point is that Billy's blades set a precedent that simply can't be allowed.
We can't allow people to just waltz in and make up their own rules...
What's next? We let them choose their own brand of hockey tape? Their choice of which brand of water to drink? Heck no. This can't be tolerated.
Time to put our foot down and pout until everyone who doesn't care hears us. Right?
2) Billy D - for getting Nick to quit the night with a *cough* "wicked injury" ....
1) Nick (Again) - If he was 100%, which he clearly wasn't, he could have stayed in the game and telegraphed a few more passes for me to pick off.
I needed at least three of those to net a goal, so his quitting really hurt my game.
On a side-note: Nick had as many wins on the night as Ron, Goggles and Dale COMBINED.
But he also incurred 4 more losses than those guys...Yes, we counted those games, Nick. Deal with it.
Honorable Mention:
JHard - His nickname should be tryHard because that's all he can do against that onslaught.
Better luck next time, kid. It wasn't meant to be this time. We need to get you some leg pads that fit you properly.
I swear his leg was actually wider than the pads themselves...
Editor's Note:
The Brett-JR trade was (apparently) hotly debated by some. The argument was that Black team needed more defense and White team needed less offense, so that seemed like a good addition of Brett...
But I think the naysayers really underestimated the King of Saugus. Brett leaving meant less offense, but adding Johnny didn't mean THAT much less offense..
Interestingly, after the trade, Johnny scored three of the next four goals and had five of his eight points during the final two games.
Meanwhile, Brett had just one point in the final two games, due to being demoted to defense. Maybe the White team should have kept him on offense with Jared?
Don't get me wrong, Brett plays a mean D, but I think someone slipped up on the coaching side for the White team. Situational Hockey - Belichick Style.

The trade was made thinking nick was going to be playing. If Johnny knew nick wasn’t playing and still made the trade....we’ll thats just dishonest and I don’t approve.
The lesson from last night is brought to you by the number 1.
1 Driscoll is enough.
But which 1?
Darin obviously
Scandalous! Did Johnny know Nick was retiring again????
Unrelated, but I think we should do an online mock draft this year....
If nick retires, I retire... last night we all had a front row ticket to the end of Saugus Hockey! The prayer boys had it right...
Prater
That’s the way it *would* end, too....with record attendance.
Didn't know Nick wasn't playing the other games. I had actually tried other trades instead but Brett thought swapping places would be best.
Passing the buck...it’s all on Brett then. No one wants to take credit for that fantastic trade!
I wonder if Nick even knew what he was doing?...
If nick played we could’ve won the first game after the trade. I wouldn’t have had to play defense. Nick was the key. He’s so important
You guys remember Saugus Hockey, that used to be such a good time.
Brett should be ashamed of his breakaway "goal". He went backwards after getting me to commit. Though technically legal, it breaks rules of sportsmanship. He should have disallowed his own goal for extreme cheese. We are nothing without honor.
--Disappointed
We should all be ashamed of what took place Sunday!!
Well, I for one, know that I am deeply ashamed of you, Iggy.
Getting blame for a loss in a game you didn’t even play in. Sounds about right
