Such inaccurate stats. And frendon wonders why Johnny never gave him the keys to the stats kingdom
Johnny doesn’t have the keys. I do. I started the stats, never stopped recording them. And have my own stat database. My stats are all current up to this date.
Johnny stopped caring, and now his database is forever behind.
You are much mistaken.
Brett is upset that his shootout goal counted against him, citing that it should be left off his stats.
To be fair, we would have to also disallow counting each player’s goals in a shootout to count toward their stat totals as well.
Funny enough, no one has ever asked me to take their shootout goals they score away from their stat totals.
Makes you wonder if maybe Brett is only happy when the stats are skewed in his favor…
And of course, we can’t forget that we have always counted shootout goals for/against players in the Haverhill cup as stats in past years, so to switch now would not be an even comparison. We are not changing things now because one player doesn’t like it. What’s fair is fair.
None of this benefits me, I just record what’s on the page.
If you understood hockey at all you would’ve known to never count shootout goals in the first place. No one ever thought to question it before since anyone who has ever heard of hockey in any form would’ve known not to count it. Guess we were giving you too much credit to know that. Looks like you have your work cut out to fix all the past stats. Thank you in advance. Your stats will always be unofficial. Sorry but it’s the truth
If you understood how we score things at all, you’d know that none of these stats in the Haverhill Cup count as season stats. They only exist for the one day, and as such, all it gets you is one day of slightly better stats, for goalies only.
But without counting them, we would have games that don’t have 1) a game-winning goal and 2) a proper matching goal total proportionate to players and wins. So all of the built-in checks for cross-checking things are off by a goal. Normally in a week, we only have maybe one of those on rare occasion, but typically we don’t have any ties since we always play to 5. But in the HC, we have many of them, which complicates the equation.
Rather than trying to program in logic to account for the offset, we simply counted them as there’s never really that many to skew the numbers that much, and it’s much easier to line up all the numbers.
But you only care about looking good, not about anything else.
And Jamie was better than you this Cup. Deal with it.
Less talking, more stat correction. Chop chop
