Hockey this Sunday 8-10
Hi guys,
We’re back to eight this week since the flag football league has their playoffs this week. Let me know who is in.
Hey! All you losers, please respond to Johnny if you are going or not!
I will be in the best shape of my life when we head down there later this fall. At least since I've been the 40's that is.
So I think I could provide some offensive power. I don't want to take anybodies position, (someone honk the horn... what... nobody will come to my aid, ok I will then), but I was an ACE centermen as a junior and senior on my high school hockey team in O'Canada. There is something to be said about at least winning some face offs!!!
Oh, one more thing... while the horn is still blowing. During my senior season, I was the team's Captain. However, I never asked, mentioned or lobbied to be the Captain because I was a senior and a good player. The team voted anonymously for team Captains. Yes, I did vote for myself, but it was unanimous.
You guys all know, I'll play any position except goalie. But like Brett said... we wanna WIN.
The first thing we need to do is start getting commitments from whoever is planning on going.
I'd say second in importance to that (well outside of registering the team and booking flights) is determining how we should play. We can get together and watch some footage from the teams we played last year and see how they transition / position themselves. At that point we have to start "coaching" ourselves so that when we scrimmage we're sticking to a style, not just running around chaotically.
Draw up plays, and practice them over and over, as long as it takes. Make Eric the team centerpiece. The best defense is a good offense!
Like for example, set up "decoy options" for Eric like the open man calling for a pass. Then when the decoy draws the defense, let him do what he does best. The opposition may defend it a couple of times, but it will be hard for them to face that the whole game.
Also, how about actually having someone "coach" us as we practice this year? Whether or not they devise the gameplan or we come up with one and they just try to enforce it. Suggestions?
I'm going to keep working on Dave, and he didn't completely rule it out last time I talked to him. Obvioulsy our best chance to win is with him in net and Brett on D. Brett, I think you'd be the next best option we have (obviously we'd need to give you lots of practice). The only other person I could think of would be Tony, although he too would need a bunch of practice (and we have no idea if he'd even be interested). Joe has bailed on us too many times in the past to really consider.
This decision is huge though because it affects the rest of the makeup of our team. If Brett has to fill in for Dave, then you probably need Borges to take the "rushing defenseman" role from Brett (which Borges did extremely well in Nashville). But then that means Ron HAS to play a center, and we need to which with me, Jared, and Eric leaves us needing at least two more forwards.

This may come as a shock to you all... but my demands are many yet easy to meet. 1. please no lube 2. banana's 3. i stick with "ittles" 4. i can do an infinite number of one handed trips 5. throwing gloves, and now the possability of sticks, into the crowd. 6. commit as many unneccisary high-sticking calls as desired. 7. a kiss from borgis, on both cheeks every goal i get. 8. Two options, either i grow and shave crazy patterns on my beard, or i get to grow a mustache rivaling ron's. 9. that i am not allowed to drowned 10. sleeping in a bed that salty dog spills beer all over.(it was my beer) 11. jared must put up a fit equal to or surpassing to that of mine. 12. and best player or not, i take home the plaque. 13. and no more mylek hats. 14. lots of AMP, VAULT, 15. ronnie must coach jared on his running abilities and that he should not stay out on the ice long. 16. and last but not least, jogging with eric for zero reason at all... shirtless. SHOULD these demands be met, i may consider. ...YOu guys kidding. I'M IN. HA! take that inferior Driscoll.
Im in .. i can't believe ive been missing all this drama on a sunday night... and i have to keep pace with nick and lke, oh and there is a chance i may be on tv , and well the thought of being in the same rink as the top six players gives me the "goosebumps"

borges can definately play adequate defence and has proved that in the past.
Ron i think you deserve the chance.
I'd also like to try offence. seeing as billy is saying he wont be making the trip. he said that last time too though.
who was the only person to have a 100% face off win percentage?
in a tournament...that was the rest of the question, but i already blew it.
Leadership is important, Ron is better than Eric :-)

Would it help if we all wore under armor? Doesn't it wick the sweat away from your body? Do they make socks?

florida max players was like 16 or 18
i need to know definately if dave is going or not.
if not i think i might be the best choice for goalie but i have things to work on (staying in the net)

when i shut Borges out for a whole night then you know i'm ready for florida.

The OSTRICH should be our mascot.
It sounds kinda silly, but think about it and it makes sense!
