Will all longnecks please step forward?

Who wants to be a Longneck this Fall?

We need to put this team together soon. I can host a "let's bang some names around" party at my home within the next 3 weeks or so.

I have recruited 3 new guys. One goalie, 2 players. They will come to Saugus when play resumes.

Who else wants to come, or has expressed interest in joining us?

I understand Billy is unlikely at this point, I have my doubts Scotty will commit to coming, but hopefully, there's still a slim chance both come.

JB, John, Jared and Billy, Ron, Eric
Brett, Bob
Scotty, Griff

Mark Kimple, Devon Kimple Dave Kimple (G), Tony A (G)

Are Dave, Mark and Devon going to match the jewels I found last year in Brett, Billy and Eric? The answer is No, but they will provide us with good depth and grit.

Hey Ron,

I talked to some guys yesterday. We were thinking of meeting two Sundays from now. I had said my place initially, but if it's easier for everyone and if you wanted to have it at your place then that's fine too.

Let's pick a time and place, and then have people commit to whether they can make that meeting or not.

I can't do July 4th weekend. I'll be away ripping around Buzzards Bay on my ski boat.

Towing my daughters unsuspecting friends on a rolling ski trix!!!

If any of you brave souls want to have a blast, or better put, the ride of your life, a getaway weekend can be planned for the team.

I really wanted to play Sunday. Instead I was at Taylor and Julian Andings graduation party. The best part was I got to sit on a lawn chair, cold drink in hand, and played talent scout. The Kimple's, Taylor, Julian, Ronnie and others were playing street hockey in the driveway.

They showed some decent moves and stick handling ability. Actually, the moves were kind of a joke. One was the classic up on your tip toes then smack the ball between your legs for a no look pass to someone. The funny thing was, it was getting by the opponent.

Just the fact that they were doing that showed me that they can play alright. They said they don't mind the drive to Saugus and further said, "should me make our travel arrangements to Florida". That provoked a laugh out of me; I then said let's get some game play in Saugus first.

I think bringing 2 goalies is a good idea. Tony told me he would probably come with us to FL if invited.

my two cents on the new players (please don't be offended)

this is all based on ice hockey

Mark - older, not too fast, not physical for a big guy(just cheap), ok defence

Devon - no moves, no pass(jared looks for the pass more than him), weak shot, fast

Dave - could be the answer we're looking for in net, shows good form in net, know how to play his possition, has a bad game every once in a while(so does everyone), i'd definately give him a chance to prove himself . . . i don't think we have any other choice

No offense taken. I agree completely with that assessment for their play on ice. I don't think I made them out to be stars or anything like that.

I think Devon and Dave have the most to offer. However, Devon's shot has improved in the past year.

Mark is fatter than me. I think slower than me too. He does have a bigger mustache though. However, mine has reached the pinnacle, being of Master Quality. Very hard to duplicate. I definitely have the edge in that department.
