The season recap is taking longer than expected. Im doing a ton of research on past games, waiting on email responses from several people and getting some details that im not privy to.
I promise it will be up tomorrow. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Bendon doens't EVER play defense!!
By his own admission he's HORRIBLE at it.
So then tell everyone to stop voting for him. Your vote only counts as one. You need to convince others to vote with you. Why did this poll close anyway?
Nick did a good job getting the polls, but we probably should have discussed some of the nominees first. For example, Joe played 1 game in net - he shouldn't be a nominee for a Vezina (the 3 goalies should be Steve, Jack, Jimmy). There was a category that Ron L showed up in, and he didn't even play this year. I also don't believe that you should have Other as an option for any of the polls.
By doing it as a poll, it gives people options to "cheat" the system too. I wonder if we're better off making a thread where we decide the nominees and then people write in their votes and they have to leave their name for it to be counted.
who picks these candidates anyway? why only three choices for captains? whose decisions are these? I demand to know the answers!
but that means that votes can't be cast anonymously. that might get some tempers flared at some of the voting. it could also allow some to sway the vote of others if they feel pressured into following certain people's votes dont you think?

5 Brendon - Ugly. That’s the best word to describe Brendon’s game. I’ve never seen a nice move or an overpowering shot. But those oh so important garbage goals have him in the 5 spot for the year. His winning percentage is debatable due to the fact that he’s picked in the middle and is usually teamed up with the team with 2 superstars. But his points are not debatable. And the chemistry between Brett, JR and himself is unmatched. Too injury prone though.
4 Steve - Gets my vote for most improved. Steve became the brick wall that Saugus has been desperately crying for. He has even had to have the teams stacked against him to make it even. Leader in shutouts, leader in wins. Steve surpassed all expectations during the entire season. We were all waiting for him to revert back to his old self but he never did. He has found that next level in his game. The question is, how many levels does he have left?
3 Brett - Should be a candidate for most improved. Brett’s offensive skills were unleashed on opposing teams as he could beat you by himself or by using his teammates. 0 game winners last year to 15 this year. With 5 clutch goals. Most assists. (only player with over an assists per game average). And he can play the role of a shut down defensemen when asked. Just ask JR. He would have been higher if not for the tantrum he threw when Johnny left last night. All in all he is the most complete player in Saugus.
2 JR - Unstoppable has been used when describing Johnny. Which on most nights was true. He had the highest points per game throughout the season while most of his points were goals. Definitely a shoot first kind of center. His one folly is that he needs to trust his teammates more. Which I know is hard to do when your winger is anyone but Brett. Still, I want more assists next year. You have it in you, I know you do.
1 Jared - Surprise! Surprise! Who else could get as many points as Jared did while facing JR and Brett on most nights? No one I tell you!! It’s amusing to think he complains about others complaining when he complains the most.(was that confusing?) But at least he keeps playing. His knack for picking bad teams was epic. And he never had that solid support he needed on offense with him. Who knows what he could have accomplished with a top notch winger or center beside him all season. He sure seemed to enjoy playing with Brett or JR when he had the chance. Now some may say “but he doesn’t play defense!!” but that’s like saying “but Brett doesn’t play goalie!!” Would Jared be more valuable playing more defense and less offense? I don’t think so. “I love you just the way you are” (Billy Joel)
Honorable Mention:
Mike Ward - His talent was usually misplaced. He played way to much offense instead of D. The top defensemen in Saugus, when he plays it
Mike D - Solid utility guy who can do what is needed where ever you put him whether it be defense, wing or center.

Yes, softball is on for this week. Let me know who is planning on playing. We can probably make the game around 4 so that anyone with an afternoon meeting can still make it.
