So far, it's looking pretty good for the start of hockey this year. I've already had several new people asking me when we are going to start playing. I think we might even get some more. So here's the deal:
I want to make sure the rink is very "family-friendly" this year. It's vital in order to build our pool of players, and beyond that it's how the games should be. Everyone should play hard, competitive games, but realize that it's only a game and the goal is having fun. Anyone that doesn't comply won't be able to continue to play.
I will call the rink tomorrow to find out the available times, and then post the time tomorrow afternoon. Two important questions: 1. What is the format of the games? 2. Who are the starting goalies?

I dunno who the goalies are, but I like the timed games much better.
I know weve talked about it before but I think it would be cool to do two somewhat set teams this year. Riley and jb can pick some core guys and we can can keep track of the wins for each team.
Maybe have a one month (4 week) season against each other. Not sure exactly how it would work but doing something like that could give more incentive for people to show up every week.
The only tricky part is figuring out who is going to show up each week. We'd have to do it with a set base, and then add the extra guys.
I like the idea of keeping it short though. We can do it for a month with the same teams, and then re-pick them (maybe even with different captains) for the following month.
Now here would be the follow-up question: would we allow trades? :)
I like that idea.
Are we playing this sunday?
Yep, I'll post the time once I book it this afternoon.
