The Choir Showed Up...As always

"How can you be preaching to the choir when the choir doesn't come to the church anymore? Not buying it."
I never responded to this anonymous comment because it was just so off base. It was so out of touch. It was so asinine that it didn't deserve a modicum of my time or consideration. The rose colored glasses have to go. What a complete moron you must be. But keep hiding behind that anonymous tag.
Today, Im responding to you. Belated, but Im completely on point. I wish I was speaking in my usual hyperbole and exaggeration, but Im just stating the facts:
Saugus hockey disappeared not because of Johnny, Nick, Billy,Jared, Brett, Jb, Griff, Frendon, or Mike but because of all of you "maybes" out there. The ones that could only play on a certain Saturday in a obscure window of time on some random afternoon. Saugus ended because of all of those guys that didn't respond to inquiring text messages or blog posts. And who doesn't love the "ill be there" line, to only be bailed on at the last moment? Weak.
That was the case yet again last night. "The choir" not only showed but orchestrated everything. We fought tooth and nail to try and get a game on. We put forth all the effort to get Saugus started up again and not one person that said they wanted Saugus back showed up. Awesome.
Some would say It was a one week, last minute example. Give it another shot. Im just failing to see the point anymore. I've seen this before.
Lenny, we came back, but it was back to what we left in the first place. The same 8 guys looking at each other wondering why they even bothered.
I wanted Saugus back, but not like this.
Long Live the King.

Next time there's a game in Saugus Lenny can get it organized.

I can't play Sundays. I can play saturdays but only after 8, Friday mornigs till 11:30 and all day on Tuesdays.

Hope you can include me.

Can you believe we threw a game together just to try and make Lenny happy? You know Lenny, the guy who played 18% of the time when we played on Sundays at 8 every week for years. This is the same Lenny who complained about how the games were setup(games he wasn't showing up for anyway) and for some reason thought that he should have some input on decisions.

If Lenny and all those other people who miss Saugus(which there aren't any) really wanna play, then send out the texts and do something.

Tuesday, October 30th
Nick: Lenny we might play Saturday afternoon
Lenny: Can't do Saturday since I made plans to see my poor grandmother over a month ago. Why not Sunday?
Nick: Johnny can't do Sunday.

Friday, November 2nd - 7:23pm
Nick: No game, no goalies.

Saturday, November 3rd - 3:52pm
Nick: Game on at 8!

So the idea then is you guys can randomly come up with times and dates, be off and on and then expect all the maybes to come at your beck and call? How about some planning and forethought? I was planning on playing this Sunday if you guys still are. But by the way things are communicated I guess I'll find out around 6:30 Sunday night with a text message that I'm already 20 minutes late. Thanks guys!

All you have to say is you don't want to play in Saugus anymore. Stop trying to blame others...

So was it that there werent enough people or that we didnt have enough goalies?

Lenny we played, you didn't. We've said a thousand times that we will play. So you get all the players and get the goalies and rent out the rink for two hours. Go ahead. Stop complaining about not playing. You pick a weekend that works for you and set it up. Simple. Stop talking and do something. Or just shutup.
