Either way it's getting way too ridiculous the times we are starting at. Let's actually get there a few minutes early and start once the goalies are ready!

Lets just stay outside at 6 cuz if we say 7 by time we get going and everyone gets there we won't start till like 8..
We've been playing street hockey at the same place for years. We've played on the same day for years. We've all driven to Hockey town hundreds of times!!!
Why can't we get there on time (or imagine getting there a few minutes early) and actually be playing hockey at 6:15 instead of standing outside of the rink?
Ya good point Mike. I never understood why the late starts. But I'm not convinced it will change.

I'll be there 30 minutes later with plenty of time to stretch, say hi to everyone, shake hands with people I haven't seen in a while, put on my gear and take at least 10-15 shots before the game starts.
until johnny (and the goalie he brings) are CONSISTENTLY on time there is no reason to be on time. we showed at 615 and still waited for 15 minutes for johnny to pull in
Actually, for the past few weeks we have been there around 6 but didn't have enough people yet to collect and get the rink opened up. This past week I was definitely late though - I had to get the kids ready for my mother to watch them and it took until almost 5:30 before I got done.

It's like people who are late to the 9:30 meeting on Sunday and you think "maybe it's just too early for them". Then the meeting is moved to 12:00 and they're still 15 minutes late every time. People who are late will always be late.
The problem here is that for some reason you're all so dependent on Johnny. Anyone can collect the money not just Cindy. Start 4 on 4 if we have to. When Johnny routinely walks onto a terrible team that Jared has duped Nick into picking, Johnny might start showing up a little less late.
10 minutes early is on time.
Johnny is usually with a goalie...hard to play when goalies are missing.

no. I agree it sucks but I dont care if we have 15 people there what is the point if we are missing a goalie. Unless both goalies are there on time why bother?
I didn't say start without a goalie. I said if he's bringing a goalie then they get no warm up. I know I hate paying extra money for a babysitter or having to leave BWW early just because we started late.
But for weeks coming up with tony and Darrin and maybe even Mike Melo and Bobby, I think we could make due and start before Johnny and Cindy get there.
Rick comes by himself now because he doesn't like waiting for Johnny

Be there at 5:50. I can collect and we can open at 6.
Of course this week traffic will be horrible and I'll be late but leaving at 5 usually gets me there 15 minutes early.
