Recap and Stats (part 2)

The stats are up. Same drill as always...look for the links on the side bar. Obviously new pages/databases needed to be created for the new season so mistakes were possible (though unlikely...lol). Let us know if you see any.

The recap will be up tonight.

That is all.

i agree with wpr, ron may have scored 8 goals, but i'm still disappointed. He has to do it blindfolded now to impress me.

You need to add an important stat that will shed some light on why certain players are at or near the top of the stat sheet.

Minutes played per game

You do this by doing two easy things.

Time the length of each game and then every time a player hits the bench for a change you mark down that they substituted.

Think about it, some players are in decent shape and NEVER, or RARELY get off. I take that back, even some out of shape guys don't substitute regularly. This will heavily favor them in the Stat column.

Make it more transparent and keep track of how many times each player shifts per game.

I know for a fact Chris Young had at least 2 goals.

He had 2 in row that were almost identical plays.
both came from Jared

Mike, Chris had two one-timers with Jared in a row, but one of them was his goal, one of them he passed it to Jared.

Play of the Night! said...

welcome to play of the night, it's pretty self explainatory.

Sunday Nights play of the night was a close call with Jared and Joel's filthy give and go to win game one beating out ron's heartwrenching running to his right slapshot across his body to beat a confused jimmy.

I hurt my team in game 1 by not subbing. We had gotten to 4 and I wanted to make sure we got the win so I didn't sub. Looking back on it I was too tired at the end of that game and it ended up hurting my play - I missed some easy chances against Jimmy in Game 1. Sorry guys! On the other hand I sat almost the entire third game to make up for it!

As for trying to track how many times guys sub, unless you actually timed them it's not going to mean a whole lot.

Also, it's laughable to make the connection that the amount of subbing has something to do with who is at the top of the stat sheet. Jared subs a bit more than Brett or myself, but one would think that when fresher players come onto the rink they should be able to take advantage of the three of us being tired. So the extra ice-time in theory shouldn't help us at all.
